Still slower around the real length of the track, Camaros time was full length of track 4 seconds is a lot of distance on a track

Yes it did. Video evidence suggests the zl1 used the 20.6 distance not the reported 20.8 per gm. The m4 CSL is the OFFICIAL record holder for that category. Plus the m4 cs just ran a 7:17 today. What makes the car far better is the use of track able street tires where the Camaro uses street able track tires and has over 100 hp advantage. Proves the m4 is the better chassis but Camaros are cheap.

The ZL1 ran its time with a 6 speed manual transmission while the M4 CS & CSL ran with 8 speed autos. Not sure what your point is about tires when both the M4 CS and CSL ran on Cup 2R tires which are even less streetable than the older Eagle F1 Supercar 3Rs on the Camaro.

I don't know about the "cheap" part. Maybe in the states...

now look! even m4 csl and gt4 rs beat the MODIFIED zlshit. no wonder chebbe is gonna discontinue that lt junker in 2024... I've even gained some respect for the mustang for at least trying - used to hate that car too! both the mustang (new gt500, new mach 1, and the upcoming boss 302 model) and the challenger are at least decent unlike the pos camaro
