Cars I expected to see in the test that are not present are the EVO X, the
CSR260 Superlight and the Corvette Z06.
Some fanboys will not be happy with the results. The GT-R beats the Porsche
again (like every other test), so they "must" be cheating. IS-F is what I
expected it to be, slower than the M3 and C63 AMG. RX-8 has consistently proven
itself to be the slowest "best handling" car ever made, it was beaten by the VW
Scirocco and a cooper mini, both a FF machine.

"The GT-R beats the Porsche again (like every other test)" - That's not exactly
the case. GT2 beats GT-R in three track-tests.

If you didnt know Fastestlaps has the WIF option (which is faster) on the upper
right hand corner which compares the laptimes of both cars

I don't think that RX8 is not handling well, it lost because it has no torque in
lower rpm especially if you compare it with turbo cars. The track was a little
bit wet so 4wd cars had the advantage. I'm not saying that GTR isn't faster than
GT2 but the conditions were against Porsches car. Once more the LP560-4 was
proven itself and the fat RS6 was only a bit faster than the tts which has less
than 1/2 of it's power!!!

There was an EXO X in the test but the car isn't in the Fastestlaps database....
I think it was the EVO X FQ360 which lapped in 1:06.40

| @fastestlaps: "Oh it did? What tests are that then?" Where did you see straight
comparisons between the GT-R and the GT2, that the GT2 won?

W0o0dy, clock on "Which is faster" on top right corner of the page and then
select GT2 and GT-R. You will notice that in three tracks GT2 is faster. How
straight or biased these test were? As straight and as biased as those were GT-R
won.

| @Fastestlaps: i meant a comparison where both cars were actually driven on the
same circuit under exactly the same circumstances....
I hate to say it but it seems some people that are active on this site seem to
have a bit too much love for Porsche and make no bones about favoritism.... too
bad, the nature of the site is that it is really objective, but it seems its
not.

| W0o0dy: the test in Vairano between gt2 and gt-r has been done under very close
conditions if not in the same day and the driver was alain prost. the time gt2
did in that day is quite remarkable and totally unexpected (at least by me)
considering that Prost couldn't drive a gt3rs faster than 1.18 in another (more
favourable) circumstance. i would have expected a time about 1 second faster
than the gt-r, rather.
i am afraid that would be more of less real difference between the two cars in
dry conditions.
i agree than there are too many porsche supporters around the forums, maybe due
to the fact that magazines like sportauto are too much credited for.

| listen men both porsche and GTR ARE FANTASTIC CARS very close on tracks but my
personal view is porsche does'nt like the fact that a nissan taxi making
manufacture has made a advance motor whether its easier to drive or not you have
to give credit where it belongs the legend is real GTR

| If all wheel drive is all that why do no open wheel racers use it and did you
see the dodge viper do a 722. at nurburgring , oh yah.

| Can you beleive the fast lap time of the new vette at nurburgring considering it
was driven by a geeky engineer.I would put it ai sub 720 time with a real
driver.

| The problem with any driving test is who is driving, how was the car set up,
weather conditions, low fuel, fulltank, we could only speculate but all of these
cars are great cars we can appreciate.

Whats the best choice for me?
1- Buy a GT-R ($70)
2- Tune-Up my WRX 07' ($50)

| @Andrew - Id go with the GTR, but maybe wait a year or 2. Let them work the bugs
out of it. In the long the the GTR should have way more potential then a WRX.
Plus the GTR is part of history!

| the reports say the new NSX will have a V10 TT engine with power being between
500 and 600bhp. and considering the NSX will be doublee the R35's price it
better beat it. so i wouldnt be too proud if i were you bout having the nsx beat
a 3908lb 480bhp car round the ring when it will have much more power an d weigh
a lot less AND being double the price.

| The old nsx was way overpriced even though it was a decent car,but with the
price and performance of the GTR if the NSX doesnt come close to all that Honda
will definitly come second in the japanese performance game, especially when in
F1 Honda won one race in five years.
