Car & Driver published spy shots of camouflaged C7 Corvette, which appears to be the new ZR1.

ZR1 historically has been the ultimate, most powerful member in Corvette family. In 2008 the C6 ZR1 with 647 horsepower was just as potent as Ferrari Enzo or Porsche Carrera GT - the "hypercars" of that era.

ZR1 will almost certainly be the last iteration of C7 platform, before the mid-engined C8 comes around.

the third party spoiler ruins it for me, going the 911 gt way is not the best way to solve your aerodynamics around the track

but i hear chevy has big plans for next generation vette engines, ovh --> dohc and high revving!!!

No it doesnt, It has a slightly worse below average Cd, And the ZO6 is more then 5 points worse, And the ZR1 is supposed to have way more downforce?

Why bother with new mid engine platform, when you can just move the front-engine slightly more backwards and pull a "Matt LeBlanc" by calling that "mid engined".

The difference of mid engined cars are usually lighter, have a better weight distribution still and a higher top speed because of the smaller sleeker front

Central exhaust takes away a good portion which could be used for a more efficient diffuser and the side diffusers lacks strakes to block wheelwake

On the plus side, this is probably gonna be the first ZR1 to produce positive downforce
