21 Gents it’s time for round two!

Cover for Gents it’s time for round two!

After the very amusing 488 Pista discussion, I have another delicious topic for you. The Picture above shows the notebook from Roland Kussmaul (taskmaster 993 GT2). This is his entry for the 993 GT2 run from 26.07.00 on the Nordschleife with Walter Röhrl.

"26.07.00 Fg 416 Nbrg trocken Walter R.
Benzin 102 --> Steuergerät +6°
Luftdruck 2,0/2,2
Pirelli 225/285 auf 4 mm abgeschliffen
Stabi 5/3"

«Benzin 102 --> Steuergerät +6°» means they used 102 octane and changed the ignition timing to +6° advance ignition. This result in more top end power compared to the stock cars.
«Pirelli 225/285 auf 4 mm abgeschliffen» means they removed half the tread with tools before mounting the tires. This improves slip angle and tread rigidity.
To me – this looks like cheating ;)

You say it's for the 993. That's a 90's generation GT2. Not to mention this is from July 26th 2000. So this really has nothing to do with the 488 Pista discussion. The GT2 that ran 6:47 is a 991 generation 17 frickin years later... Stupid post.

With a name like that you have just caused 300 women that were on this site to commit suicide and offended thousands of others. Good luck!

I called the cops on this man's comment just hours ago. Police and FBI will be looking forward to this comment made by "Cunt."

Wait, why is cunt not censored on here? The f-word and the ass-hole word are. Cunt is worse than ******. That N-word.

If it's a spy photo, it's a spy photo from the year 2000. Has nothing to do with the 2017 GT2 run.

because everyone thinks their fav. car or car maker is the best that forums like these turn into wars instead of its real purpose of discussion and learning of other cars and new cars... i dont think the maker of this site wanted it to be nothing but ''f u amg fanboy'' ''no, f u and that schemeing porsche company''.... almost every car i look at has some of the dumbest arguements while some people RAGE like children...sigh, talk about cars and facts dont bash opinions

Haha thats hilarious! But Why did they keep this letter which is proof of cheating ???

User avatar

It's amusing because Porsche fans have such a hard-on for accusing other manufacturers of cheating.

"To me – this looks like cheating"

this is nothing new, why else does every other stupid 911 topic turns into a sh*t sink ? cause the fanboys are always prepared to defend their beloved ww2 automobile whether the tests were done in mid-air or on slick tires with hand written using chalkboard creating fake treads writings that reads 100% street legal and dot approved.

i guess it runs in the family after all

that's what i am talking about, megalol.
but this has absolutely no consequence, since most of the forums around are owned and moderated by germans. What really made the headlines was a big-ego british youtuber, C Harris, followed by uneducated car hooligans, who spewed a rant on the web accusing Ferrari of cheating, the day in which mclaren launched mp4-12c.
Ferrari didn't learn anything from this.

A 7:56.. hmm.. is that the official time for the new Renault Clio or VW Golf GTi?

Can't be compared to modern times... track has improved, allowing faster laps. Obviously the same goes for cars, and especially for tires. Yet take a look at the new Jaguar...

That 7:56.57 time must be for the 2018 Dodge Challenger Hellcat Widebody.

And Walter Rohrl mein gott the man is still probably quicker than Saurma and Gebhardt now let alone then.

User avatar

The official time listed for 993 GT2 is 8:09. Nowadays a really quick hot hatch cheats to get under 8 minutes at Nordschleife.D:

Maybe so, but today the track has become hugely more faster with smoother tarmac and less bumps. Even greater improvement has happened in tire technology, todays tires so much grippier, so that type of comparison is not entirely fair. Not to mention they did just test laps back in the day while now pro drivers optimize the time. However, have to admit today's hot hatches are very very quick!
