70 McLaren 720S Preview

Cover for McLaren 720S Preview

Recently some prospective customers were invited for a Mclaren 720S preview and the comments were fairly interesting and telling.

Just went to McLaren 720S launch at MTC. Was conducted in a mind blowing minimalist auditorium, the car is STUPENDOUS. Totally new carbon monocoque.

Design - totally new, eradicated side vents, glass roof with centre carbon support (visible). New interior also moves game on totally. Overall like a baby Pagani, all mauled look has gone. All plastic interior gone - aluminium. All LCD, screen folds away.

Performance - quicker than LT, 0/200 in less than 7.5 seconds. Fastest gear change of any production car.

Fraction above 488 money.

Ferrari will not know what to make of this car, its that big a step up.

I am a massive Ferrari fan. This car will be a wake up call.

Don't all start waffling on about depreciation etc, just celebrate innovation and guts to do this in 6 years !

Usual stunningly beautiful bodywork and intrinsic reliability and build qualities too! Only Rolls Royce and Bugatti are better~😂

Is there some unique aerodynamic feature that an engineer or designer could see that makes them so secretive about pics?

You are absolutely right saxy. It was my typing mistake, sorry for that. On the other hand - for some of us :) - difference of 0.1-0.5 is difficult to recognise without test instruments.

Article clearly says 4.6s. 4.5 for the P1.

I feel bad for the depreciation of previous Mclaren a but on the other hand it just makes this generation of supercars grow faster and more affordable for the all. It's a win win really

It's a bit late for spying 4 weeks before the reveal.

Yeah, I just don't give enough of a shit either way to have an argument over it. Problem is, all I have to do is type 'McLaren 720S' into Google images to find it in other places.

The guy with tattoos on his arms is a member of fchat apparently.

Sure, McLaren probably couldn't do s**t to us if that picture was still up there, but it's not about us - it's about not causing unnecessary pain for the guy who took that picture.

I suspect McLaren had CCTV in that room where they showed the car and it was dead easy to pinpoint who was standing where at the time those pictures where taken (and who took them).

Bring back that old photo, You have every right to put it up, Dont give in!

User avatar

Perhaps this is a suitable replacement photo, since it's in public and seems to show a blown rear wing.

Now they only have to remove it from another 9,999,999 forums, blogs and billboards.

User avatar

I object! fk all that keep the image!!

User avatar

FastestLaps  8y ago

Removed the image. McLaren don't like leaks. Who can blame them lol

User avatar

sroser  8y ago

I've sent him an e-mail requesting they be removed too.

Thank you - I'll message them. Appreciated.

I would not object but you will need to speak to user FastestLaps (info@fastestlaps.com) because I have no ability to remove or edit the above article after I've posted it. I know, daft huh, but that's how it works. I don't think he will have a problem though.

Sorry for any bother.

PS: But it's fairly well proliferated now though.
