3 Mercedes aspiring for 4-door supremacy with the new E63 AMG

Cover for Mercedes aspiring for 4-door supremacy with the new E63 AMG

2017 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG is out and doesn't it look menacing... Especially in the rear view mirror if you're a BMW driver.

Speaking of which - what really happened to BMW? It really seems to suck lately, losing almost every competitive test across all segments, especially for the M cars which were supposed to be "the ultimate driving machines".

Laptime-wise there are other players that have far surpassed BMW M5 and M3 - like the Porsche Panamera Turbo Mk II or the Alfa Romeo Giulia QV.

In straight line there is only one winner and that is Audi - smashing all competition for mid-sized and full size luxury sedan acceleration, thanks to its very successful 4 liter twin turbo engine and Quattro 4 wheel drive.

Mercedes are using very similar formula - AMG sedans are (usually) 4 wheel drive and all use twin turbo V8 engines of similar capacity.

It remains to be seen whether this E class AMG will be able to match Audi RS6 on the dragstrip. Manufacturer's official performance figures suggest it might - the 600+ horsepower "S" model is advertised to be capable of 3.3 second 0-100 kph time. Which is as fast as it gets for a luxury 4 door.

Im all for any kind of AMG Benz, I only have 3 current problems with Mercedes.

1: They ALL look the damned same.

2: There getting softer, I dont like the fact that there adoning alot more electronic interference in there cars, And the addition of Awd in most of there cars, Benzs should be like Bad ass sledgehammers, German Muscle Cars, Or atleast the top dogs.

3: There getting expensive as all hell, But then again all german cars are going up.

The RS7 is the 4 door king! The S8 Plus (which is a +2 ton beast) makes the 0-100 in 3.4 seconds with less power and torque than the E 63, you can watch the test at GTBOARD channel in YouTube. The RS7 Performance shares the same engine with the S8 Plus but it's smaller and lighter, therefore, it should be even quicker...the next gen RS7 will be INSANE.

It's getting a bit silly, but oh well. What's not to like about 600+hp and a lot of practicality. Though I do suspect lots of rich people will buy this car and not because they need the power, but because one, it's a mercedes, and two, why not get the top model?
