13 New Dodge Challenger Demon rumored to have 900 horsepower

Cover for New Dodge Challenger Demon rumored to have 900 horsepower

Dodge Challenger Hellcat already has over 700 horsepower and can hardly be deemed "under-powered" even by most spoiled car buyer.

717 metric horsepower seemed almost absurd in 2014 when Hellcat models where announced, especially for the 4-door Dodge Charger Hellcat. Remember that "non S" Lamborghini Aventador has less power and torque, and it is a V12 supercar.

Now there are rumors that Dodge will soon release even more powerful version of Challenger with 900 horsepower and suitably "hellish" name - the Demon.

That's right - 900 is a whole lot more than what's already a "whole lot" and would place this relatively inexpensive factory pony car in the same power bracket as hybrid hypercars, and almost in the sacred 4 digit Bugatti Veyron territory.

That's if these rumors turn out to be accurate. So far there are only cryptic teasers and "Easter eggs" released by Dodge that suggest both the existence of a new performance Challenger and Dodge engine telemetry screen-grab that indicates 900 horsepower.

That GT3 RS would have lifted off before the finish. Lots of cars do that when they are way in the lead against another car. That explains why some cars can trap at such low speeds but quick times.

No it could, This thing is gonna have major wheel spin, given its an American Rwd performance car with little electronic interference, Hell there was a GT3 RS doing an 11.9@100mph, But other then its gonna be a Challenger with fender flaes, A hood scoop, No rear seats, And bi power, We really dont know anything concrete about it other then it will be faster then a HellCat.

It can't do 10.5s for a RWD and only trap 129mph.

The F12 did 0-60mph in 2.9s and trapped 10.9 at 129mph.

In contrast a 488gtb does a 10.4 @ 138mph?

New video has been released. It said it can do 10.5 sec @ 129 mph, 0-60 mph in 3.0 sec and 0-100 mph in 6.8 sec (some say 6.08 sec)

Mercedes will probably come up with a sedan with 800+ power that still somehow accelerates faster.

Surprisingly I herd it's power could be 999bhp, I personally think thas a bit much given what Challengerst go thru, But also here it may come with the groupies tyres that are considered street legal, Or some type of SL drag radials, I don't think this one will turn as good as the Hellcat though, Seems it's back your that American stereotype, But who knows it's a month away

IMAGINE if Chrysler made a Dodge Charger Demon! Then Porsche, BMW ///M, Audi /RS, Tesla, and Mercedes-AMG will start World War III and get bankrupt!! ;D

As much as chrysler/dodge make crappy cars, the hellcat was good. Helped them a lot for brand image and presence.
