Unlike previous two iterations of RS5, 8T3 and 8T3 facelift, the new 9T RS5 uses turbocharged power. Unfortunately, it is not the famous 4 liter twin turbo 8 - it's a V6.
A5 is Audi's largest coupe, and I was expecting RS version to have something more exotic than twin turbo V6, especially when peak power is not improved, compared to outgoing atmospheric V8.
As far as visuals - I think the RS treatment is done well and is not distasteful, like you would expect from Audi. I just think the 8T was prettier design to begin with.
Performance will be good and likely better than it used to be with the V8. Audi state 0-100 time in 3.9 seconds.
If previous RS5 was slightly above BMW M3 E92 in performance and price, this time Audi seem to be determined to target BMW M4 more directly.
