This is how fast the new Viper is
First - straight line performance, usually becomes apparent rather quickly - manufacturers often publish 0-60 times in pre-launch press releases, and most magazines these days do acceleration testing. A proper sampling of track performance is usually much harder to come by and it can take up to several months before the new car is track tested by someone with good driving skills . Today I came across a revealing video where Motortrend were testing 2013 Chrysler Viper against Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. This video is revealing not only because they did a side-by-side drag race, but mostly because both cars were track tested at Laguna Seca raceway by professional racing driver - Randy Pobst The new Viper impressed me with straight line speed but was rather less impressive at track - maybe because it lacked the super sticky "Cup" rubber that Corvette had. For exact test results, I guess you better watch the video yourself - I don't want to spoil this for anyone who hasn't seen it yet. One thing we can say for sure - both cars were pushed close to the limit and conditions were also very good - dry, sunny weather and no traffic. So much so that Randy even managed to set a new production car lap record for Laguna Seca. Community comments (47) | Quick VoteBest known carsPopular race tracks |

And i only guessed on the NEXT variation of the Viper GTS, NOT the ACR which doesnt come next, and wonr be here for atleast 4-5 years, with the Power everycar is getting, i dont see any reason why the next literation of Viper wont get a Big bump in power.
If you're going to try and imitate me, at least graduate from grade school first. There are more errors in your little 4-word drivel than I have in an entire post.
I don't know why you'd feel the need to use my name to come out of the closet, but I'll tell you what I told that "Trueman" guy on the Carrera GT page. This isn't that kind of site; this is a place for cars, not to hold your coming-out party. kthxbai, kid.
Edit: Ah, the perks of being a registered user. I had no idea it allowed you to edit posts from ANY unregistered user with the same name! Unfortunately, I couldn't get rid of the imposter's post, so I just decided to have a little fun at the expense of a worthless troll.
@BR2
LOL, even ACR hasn't already been introduced, and you're predicting how the next Viper will be like. But I don't expect on a big power bump.
Again with the tires? Here, take a gander at this: .motortrend.com/features/mt_hot_list/1112_22_cars_that_stop_from_mph_in_less_than_100_feet/viewall.html
Notice that out of those 22 cars, 10 were riding on semi-slicks. I expect to see you whining about them as well.
You really need to get with the times. Everyone knows the easiest, cheapest way to improve performance is better tires, and a LOT of manufacturers do it. Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Pagani, McLaren, Audi, Lotus, BMW, Mercedes, Bugatti, Chrysler, Ford; they've all offered semi-slicks as options at some point, and most still do. Why bother with super advanced tech when a simple tire swap can yield similar gains, with less cost, complexity and weight? And even cars with advanced tech, like the MP4-12C, are offered with semi-slicks. It doesn't matter what you think or what you don't like; this is just the way it is. Get over it.
???
here it's.
I won't waste my time doing a reply to Mondayblues,is pointless, he just don't understand it
Do you really have nothing better to do then trash a car about its tyres? Honestly
“And ZR1 stops in 91Ft! New WOrld record, Highly Impressive.”
What is? They are using huge semi slick sticky tires! Of course it's going to stop faster, the tires are more sticky than any other production car! Grow up!
16.4s for the 2008 Viper, that time is fine, but not the best indication...You were saying?..
And probably even in the 14s or less 0-150Mph with a "Real" "Pro" for the 2008.
Still dont like the Strips though.
@Mafalda, That Time is from the Older, Older Viper..
Where did you learn that stuff?
0-150mph 17.8s, much more slower than a 25 years old F40....
