Quattro snowplow - this is why we need four wheel drive
Those who live in a climate where lots of snowfall is common every winter will know that there is nothing like four wheel drive when you end up in one of those rural areas where snow is less frequently plowed and roads are fully covered with snow and salt mix. This video illustrates the point in very spectacular fashion - what you see here is an Audi Quattro driver essentially building he's own lane in the very deep snow on the right side of the highway, while all the other "less gifted" two wheel drive driver have no option but to wait for the road to clear ahead. After seeing something like this, the very annoying fanboy phrase "Quattro Power" seems nothing but perfectly appropriate. Quattro power it is! So about this Quattro Power. Just how much extra power do I get?! :D
To ka neēsi autors, tas skaidrs, bet orģinālais video bija diezgan populārs dažādos latviešu saitos.Tāpēc biju diezgan pārliecināts,ka autors rakstam ir FL. ;)
Žēl gan ka manam auģikam nav Quattro. Būtu es zinājis, ka tagad katru gadu būs tādas ziemas...
Būtu ar mieru upurēt tos + 0.3 - 0.5 l / 100 km un nopirktu Quattro :D
@moegigo
No,that's obviously not the case here.Road is blocked by a lorry.
(They don't have winter tires by default btw)
So the other cars can't get past.
This Audi decided to solve the problem,by plowing its own lane.
Which none of 2wd cars would be able to.
And this is not America.Winter tires are mandatory here.Of course some people have outworn winter tires,or not so great all season ones. But thats just a fraction of general public.
Try that with 2wd car :D
Actually I'm stayin in the mountains in Switzerland and I am pretty fine with 2WD and very good winter tyres even uphill. I often see Audi driver "racing" downhill the streets when theres snow on the street, believing that they will be save with their 4WD...lol
no actually I hate that because it's dangerous for other drivers on the street if some completely missunderstand the facts. Here there could be a bump/hole in the deep snow and the Audi driver can destroy his car very easy!
-> Would you like to drive downhill in winter when theres snow on the street, when you only manage drive this street uphill with a 4WD car...?
It's about tyres and if that is not good enough get some snow skid chaines or Spykes
Top Gear, Harvester
;)
If I had a Quattro I would not have to clean my driveway :D
Why people don't use their Audi to clean the streets from the snow?
My local communal services are working crappy, and all Audi owners could free the city's roads from snow :D
