Amazing times for an old timer, particularly being able to record 200 MPH at Bruntingthorpe. The standing mile time is astonishing..on the same day a 550 BHP 996 Ruf R Turbo took 29.62 secs,

This was at Bruntingthorpe.

This is my all time favourite car. One tested by Autocar in 2004 managed 0-100 in 6.71 secs and 200 MPH in 35 seconds. It was the last of the 29 ground up Yellowbirds and had carbon fibre, wings, bonnet and doors plus a six speed box - what a legendary car!!

lol 378kmh, the YellowBird is not going to hit no 235mph, you read wrong homie.

Actually, reading the copy of Wheels magazine (its an australian mag) they say thatt the Yellow Bird can hit 378km/h and that is confirmed.

I like the low frequency bark of the forced induction low rpm flat 6. But...

The sound of Testarossa Flat 12 was the best for me :)

they had compared it back in 1988...auto motor und sport did a highspeed compare between the F40, 959, CTR and Mercedes CE 6.0 32V AMG which the RUF clearly won

This is the car they should have been comparing the F40 to, not the 959.

this car is no joke, like the 993 gt2,,,some say outdated, but certainly no frickn joke!!!

VMAX is mainly drag power and gearing..... weight doesn't play any meaningful part in the equation.

VMAX isn't just power...it's a LOT to do with aerodynamics, gearing, weight.

The CTR is light, has really low drag, and that's why it's so damn quick.

HELL of a car...check out the EVO 0-100-0 time (and imagine if it had an up to date set of ceramic brakes - less weight more stopping power) :)

why is this car so fast for its horsepower and year..i mean thats insane 211 mph with only 469 hp? thats crazy imean the carrera gt has 605 but that only tops out at 205 which is a lil wierd for a 605 hp porsch i was just wandering cause i dont know too much about the cars from the 80s era but dammmn..lol
