Because it was rated by many, including F1 driver Jonathan Palmer as being the best handling porsche you could buy in 1993 and it was voted best handling car by Autocar in 1993 ahead of the Lotus Esprit Sport 300 and Honda NSX and Performance Car magazine car of the year, ahead of the NSX and E36 M3. Not that anonymous dunderheads on this forum would understand. I reckon on modern tyres it would do about 8 mins 30 around the 'ring.
