Yeah, but it is only 20kg lighter then the normal one.
On Hockenheim on the other hand it is more then half a second faster. Destroying
everything in its class.
give it in the hands of Walter and I am sure he does a 7:40min with it. He did a
7:42min in the 997 GT3 last year and a 7:43min with the 996 GT3 RS. That is the
different between factorytest driver and jornalist.
The 'journalist' is Horst von Sauma, a verry experienced racing driver who drove
a lot of 24 hour races on the Nurburgring.
But i agree, Walter could probably shave a few seconds off.
there is a mistake.. Fleet TV names 1:40.72min for Zoldern at the homepage..in
the Fleet TV video
http://www.fleet.tv/nl/video.php?vidid=94
they clock 1:41.72min..still the fastest time..and more amazing driven in foggy
track conditions..amazing

not weighting exactly the same and 150 lbs. are two different stories tho. I've
read in multiple places that the actual weight is near 3200 lbs. so its most
likely that Porsche is bending the truth in its literature
it was the US model, had full ac and radio. it was weighed on one of those big
platforms along with 5 other cars. it was black with yeoolw rims and matching
dash and seatbelts, sadly it wasnt mine:(
even if that was with no gasoline and the one road and track weighted was with a
full tank, 17.7 gallons of gas is only around 105 lbs since it says that weight
is without driver. I wonder how results can vary so much.
THE one i saw weighed had no gasoline, no driver and absolitly nothing in it and
it had all the options. the were weighing in 5 other cars for some kinda test
besides the gt3 they had a Alfa 147 a HSV GTS Coupe a BMW E90 M5 a C6 ZO6 and
finally a Aston V8 Vantage a 99 model i think, these were all donated by various
drivers from different business companys, they wanted too do a test on the cars
for somthing. since ma buddy new i was a big car fan hey hooked me up, i
personally didnt see any of the tests except for the drag and weight test and
aero tests, but i got to sit and chat with the owners of the cars, it was
awesome since one of my favs were there the GTS Coupe, and i was stunned when i
saw it cause they dont sell those in america. and it was owned by a pretty
lady:)..although i am curious what those tests were they wouldnt let me observe
the other tests, wonder why?..
yeah i wonder why weight does very by so much sometimes i mean ive seen one mag
say a Carrera GT weighed 3651 and another say it weighed 3045, im like WTF wered
that 600lbs come from? confusing as all shit..
