Inline 6 rules  13y ago

Power is 225 kw/306PS. Please correct it!

User avatar

BumRush  15y ago

Sure they do, if some one can put a LS1 in a Mini, or an 4G63 in a E92, they can put a V6 in an M3, dont assume everybody likes that engine.

User avatar

Georg  15y ago

btw the car in the video is a stock 343PS e46 M3 with a INLINE6 ... the video is a old German TV compare between the 2.7l V6powered twin turbo audi RS4 and a e46 M3 Coupe...
The one who uploaded the video was simple to stupid to give a correct description..
at videotime 4:13 you have a clear shoot of the stock inline6 M3 engine

User avatar

Uh, yeah...everyone swaps the I-6 from their M3 for a V-6....sure.

User avatar

Anonymous  15y ago

Have you ever herd of an engine swap?

Everytime I see a "3 series owner" who claims to have a V-6, I just LMAO.

What powerful car isnt fast?

User avatar

Mr.X  15y ago

Being powerfull dosen't mean being fast. A local car magazine manageg to get a 0-100 in the 335i in just 5.6 seconds but the G37 took a slow 7 seconds !!!!!!!!

User avatar

Wads  16y ago

wazon..... as its very similar to the 335i the weight distribution will probably be close to 52/48

User avatar

wazon  16y ago

Do you have any information about weight distribution in this car? I wonder why 335xi hasn't been compared with such cars as S4 or S5 yet (respectively with e90 or e92). I really would like to see how fast 335xi would be on Nurburgring.

User avatar

roy  16y ago

what the hell do you mean "don't put these cars in the same class." the mustang gt will kick the 335's ass. who gives a shit about looks, for alot less money, you get the same hp, more torque, and way quicker acceleration. seen stock gt's run 13.2 in the 1/4, haven't seen a 335xi do that, so that should be enough for your comparison.

User avatar

Anonymous  16y ago

Do not even put that RELIC in the same class as the 335 as looks, power-band,seating,and of course HANDLEING set these cars apart by a long, long margin. Like class, to clunker do compare these cars again.

User avatar

ben  16y ago

how would the 335xi here fair against the mustang gt 0-60, 0-100, 1/4 mile etc. i wasn't sure if they would be considered "rivals". any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

best regards,

ben

427 is an idiot

lmfao @ v6 m3

FastestLaps  16y ago

Apparently, there is. (for a previous gen.)

There was never a BMW M3 with V6 engine or any BMW M car with V6 engine ever in history of BMW. I doubt there is any V6 petrol engine by BMW of any kind Even if you know nothing about BMWs you can still hear the difference. Inline 6 never sounds like a V6 and vice versa (Sound of inline 6 can be confused with V12 but in no way with a V6). People do make mistakes. And they certainly do from time to time when they chose a title for video. Just because it says "V6" doesn't necessary mean it's a V6.

BMW M3 3.2L V6 (330BHP)IS THE ONLY ENGINE THAT THEY PRODUCE WITH A LOT OF RACING FEATURE.IT USE TO BE THE ENGINE WITH THE MOST HP PER LITTER (MORE THAN HONDA S2000)

I've never seen that engine listed in the top ten highest outputs/litre..... 330/3.2 = 103bhp/litre while the S2000 is 240/2 = 120bhp/litre ie. 20% more power per litre than the BMW.....

BMW M3 3.2L V6 (330BHP)

What are you talking about? What BMW V6? There is no BMW V6 3.2 as far as I know.

User avatar

BMW M3 3.2L V6 (330BHP)IS THE ONLY ENGINE THAT THEY PRODUCE WITH A LOT OF RACING FEATURE.IT USE TO BE THE ENGINE WITH THE MOST HP PER LITTER (MORE THAN HONDA S2000) AND A LOT OF DEVELOPPEMENT WAS DONE WITH D.T.M RACING IN GERMANY.ALL OTHER B.M.W CARS OTHER THAN M3'S ARE NOT RACING CAPABLE.ALONG WITH POOR ENGINE POWER, POOR BRACKING SYSTEM, POOR HANDLING, THEY DEMAND A PRICE THAT'S TOUGHT TO EXPLAIN...

For under $1k you can upgrade the ECU for 430chp. (dragtimes.com)

FastestLaps  16y ago

The picture does look weird. The real 3-series is shorter. This looks more like BMW 335ix Lang :D The 3-series limo.

User avatar

FastestLaps  16y ago

Honda engines are great. Both car and motorcycle engines (not to mention chainsaws, lawn-movers, generators etc :D). But in the 2.5-3.0 liter category, there is no Honda engine, as far as I know, that can much BMW's.

User avatar

PhantomPorsche  16y ago

Definatly photoshop. The sedan has different front besides the M sedan but this car doesnt have the power dome, rims and intakes.

User avatar

Anonymous  16y ago

Maybe with lawnmowers and generators but car engines, i do not agree. I think nsx1 should go back to canada.

User avatar

NSX1  16y ago

Hondas engines have always been #1 in northamerica, and definitly the most popular!!!

User avatar

LJUTICA  16y ago

FastestLaps and Georg definitely prov their point up here, but what i've been wondering about is the picture,i blieve this is not actual E90 3-series,not even a faclift version, more like someone's photoshop work...

Its amazing how alot of people expected nissan or even companies like honda to get some kind of award. But it is true how the power range for the 335 is so complete is is hard to match.

Blah, blah blah... BMW's 3.0 R6 TT was nominated "International Engine of the Year" in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008! It does say something! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Engine_of_the_Year Yes, nissan wins 14 to 4 ;)

LOL you fool....

international engine of the year awards and class wins..
BMW 43
Nissan 0

BMW completely destroyed Nissan in international engine awards...

No one outside the USA cares about Ward´s 10Best engines list because it only includes engines avaible in the USA means 90% of the world wide build engines can never make it into the list..

these cmpanys ruin there shape of the car when the progr if they first start out iwth a ess it to a sedan. example, the bmw m3 coupe is the bomb but when they made it a sedan..it lookis car s lke shit, the same with this car too. dont get me wrong this car loks good but id rather have a 335i coupe, it just ruins the shape and overall beauty of the car, but only if they start out with a cope variant first!!!
