I think this is a bad comparison, because the ML55 AMG appeared in 2001, and the 4.8is in 2004. For 3 years, BMW could not match the Mercedes. Even the 4.6is lost 55 in dynamics. More than that, 55 has the same power as in 4.6is.

This is one of the first modern SUVs and is built like a big, tall car. F150, correct me if I am wrong, have separate chassis (like ladder chassis) underneath, in other words, they are probably built like traditional trucks. I might be wrong.

I meant more performance-wise than chassis-wise.. You're right the first AMG ML55 (or maybe even G55) probably deserves that credit instead. But also this car was a sleeper and despite not having an M badge it beat the AMG. It weighed about the same as a Lightning and I brought this up because on the Lightning page we can see that it has been compared to this car
