This car drives superbly, more of a corner killer than on a straight line. Feels faster than it is, it revs quite fast too...

I can hardly wait. With that many HP, it will be a direct rival to the Grande Punto Abarth Esseesse, Ibiza Cupra, Corsa OPC, Clio RS and 207 RC.

Rumours of a 1.6 turbo ecoboost 178hp version are abound. Or the mountune version of this.

Will there be an ST version?

User avatar

Yaspaa  15y ago

I've think I've put the weight down incorrectly, its much lighter than this.

Absolutely. I would have picked a sierra though. ;D

Not all technology is bad. If we look at how much work per every liter of fuel todys engines produce compared to old ones, technology really seems to be a good thing. If it wasn't we may as well be all still using horses for transportation.

But some of the technology ruins the classical concept of car too.

Procuts represent consumers and todays consumer is far too lazy and stupid. Todays consumer can't roll window up or down or adjust seats or mirros with hands, todays consumer can't park car without help of different kinds of parking sensors, todays consumer can't use brakes or accelerator without computer adjusting braking or engine power. Today's consumer can't or isn't willing to do much at all. And today's car manufacturer takes all that into account and makes cars that allow to drive without driving the car. And driver gets alienated from the machine.

And than there's the health and safetly issue. Incresingly demanding passive safetly and engine emissions standarts are introduced and that requires further complexity of vehcile design and, as a result, cars get heavy.

Design and beauty suffers too. There are crumple zones and impact areas to worry about, and, to give the next generation models futuristic looks, designers often try too hard and end up with something that can never mach the clean-ness and elegance of a car like this:

Its the technology that puts me off new cars, there's so much of it, modern cars look airbrushed with no character, but you know, my dad says the same thing to me about his generation. :-)

I think old cars are good looking and often more so than new ones.

Was that sarcasm I smelled? and you know dude in 15-20 years some snot nosed kid is going to be telling you that the cars you love are pigs, something to keep in mind.

Wow, did you actually add a good looking car?

Mr.X  15y ago

That makes matters better but I just love the looks.

You can buy these with a mountune kit, 20bhp more and 2 secs off the 0-62. It's no different from the fiesta st185 but was deleted.

Dude !!!!!!!! 9.9 Seconds ? Its not slow but not even a match for its looks.
