@fastestlaps please change the torque to 664 Nm

It's insane how well the design has aged. It looks more modern than any Ferrari or Lambo from that time.

Please correct torque.
And on the picture is MY1969, MY1970 looked different, was heavier and slower.

Sorry that for 3.5 final ratio not 4.3. My mistake

@ dear viking you are completely right, agree with you for 6.3 seconds from 60-100 mph , seems be good.

I looked it up. Car Life tested one in July 1969. The Boss 429 with 375 horsepower had a four speed manual transmission and a 3.91 rear axle. It did 0-60 mph in 7.1 seconds and the quarter mile in 14.09 seconds at 102.85 mph. Top speed was 116 mph. As far as the slow 0-60 mph is concerned, one does have to take into account the bias-ply tires of the time. Lots of wheel spin, and/or feathering of the throttle necessary in order to get off the line. I will leave it to others with more experience in such matters to estimate how much quicker it would have been with modern tires. I guess one clue would be that it took 7 seconds to go from 60 mph to 103 mph. Extrapolating a bit maybe 6.3 seconds from 60-100 mph, not bad.

@Bijan you are absolutely right once again. I think one of my books quotes the top speed at 116 mph or something like that. I will look it up later. The book should also cite the original source (one of the magazines from the era).

Sorry, but the top speed is not correct, with opt 4.33 rear ratio and 4-speed, 147 mph ?! must be a 9000 rpm red line engine . but the red line of this engine in 1970 was 6150 rpm , according to the several articles from Car life, Car and driver and motor trend .

Blasphemy.

That's a picture of a 1969 Boss 429!

This is a 1970 (in grabber blue no less):

lol

Sorry the torque is 490 ft-lbs not 490 Nm

The year is 1970 and this one got optional 4.3 final ratio make this car top speed improved from 136 mph to 147 mph. But the 1/4 mile time will be 14 sec @ 99 mph
