I hope they bring back the Boss 302 and Boss 302 Laguna Seca. As well as continue the Mach 1 and bring back the iconic GT350 name.

Oohh! I like the engine on this one. "Voodoo" yes? Naturally aspirated high power high capacity! Now I'll be honest I don't know that much about the car. However it's atleast a start!

And HOW many Mustangs are there anyway? Oo

So i was lookin at mustangs, Just for fun, And i have noticed ford raised the price of them...Again, The gT350 is now $10,000 More then it was 9 months ago!! $2,000 more then a few weeks ago, In the US, Here in the UK the price has been raised from £32,995 to £38,095!! For the GT 5.0 model, And from £28,735 to £33,645 for the EcoBoost, That is an enormous price change for that amount of time, Hell i remember a time when Mustangs use to be...Affordable...

User avatar

BR2+  8y ago

Nah, They dont sell them here officially in the UK, If they did they would be damned expensive, There were actually quite alot of GT500s here in there last stint, Not officially sold, But still pretty hefty, And those were 55k, Id love to own one, But my next car is gonna be a at straight cruiser, Auto, Surprisingly, But my R34 and RX7 are both coupes and manuals so.

Dealers mark up cars everywhere, Specially when there new and start selling good, Hell when GTRs came out here in 2008 they started at 55k, And dealers marked them touching 70k+, Thats nothing new anywhere.

And when the hell has a 5.0 every been around 4000lbs? The lightest ive seen is 3540lbs, Dunno where there gonna 300lbs+ difference.

User avatar

saxy  8y ago

But the thing with American cars, they price it cheap and then the dealer marks it up some $25k higher.

And the mustang is quite a bit heavier than before. The standard 5.0 has been weighed at around 4000 lbs

Why you thinking of buying one?

User avatar

BR2+  8y ago

So i was just looking at the Ford US site, SInce theres no GT350 on the UK site -_- BS, And i just noticed they INCREASED the price by $8,000!!($7,750) It used to be $46,995, Thats a huge increase. Even though nobodys gonna get one at Msrp..

Im actually quite dissapointed in the outcome, I mean a Boss 302 posted faster times then this, A figure 8 time slower then a ATS-V? 3800lbs? How the hell? Its suposed to weigh 120lbs less then a 5.0, Which Road&Track already weighed at 3,540Lbs, So where in the hell is that extra 300lbs?...Now i know this is only the first test of many to come, But still, That performance is extremely disappointing.

im certainly not one to hate a car for having less performance, But given the hype it should be alot faster, If the new Camaro SS beats this thing(It has already in acceleration) On track, It would be embarrassing for Ford. And that exhaust sounds so weird, Not bad, But the GT350R has to have adifferent one from what i have been hearing.

The Performance NumbersGT3500-60=4.1 secondsBraking 60-0=102 feetLateral acceleration=1.00 GMT Figure 8=24.2@0.82GCurb Weight=3,781

Literally no faster than the New Camaro SS lol the Camaro SS 1LE may be able to hang with the GT350R.

This thing looks very promising. Great sounding motor too... I am surprised by how much weight this generation of Mustang has gained. According to MotorTrend this thing weighs almost 3,800lbs!

This is car is so weird (and special). Ferrari-like flat-plane crank with high RPM and a Ferrari like scream instead of musclecar burble.

Motortrend says that its a "muscle-car that it puts sportscars to shame". I would argue that its not a 100% musclecar - its a muscle car with sportscar engine. Which is not really bad - I like interesting cars and bikes.

BR2+  9y ago

Yeah man, Make the superior performance model in every way be SLOWER then the base V8 version, That makes total sense...

You are either a bad troll, 8yrs old, Or INSANELY stupid....And i dont think your an 8yr old troll................

This looks better and is cheaper than the Z28 but I doubt it's as serious of a track car as the Z28.

User avatar

BR2+  10y ago

Price starts at $52,995 Usd, Which is pretty damn awesome, Although "Seems" like a bit much considering a GT 5.0 starts at $32,100 Usd, But then again it doesnt considering what you do get, But if its aiming for the Z/28, It alredy delt a huge hit to it in the much lower price tag.

Still, 500Bhp+, Great looks, Great sound, Nice retro interior, Great, Begs the question on how much the GT500 would actually be, COnsidering there most likely gonna aim for the HellCat and new upcoming Camaros.

Define?

User avatar

Flabernat  10y ago

My point is, auto's do let you concentrate more, butonly on certain/specific aspects of driving(traction-line, braking zones...etc), notdriving as a whole and everything involved in making the car go/move... A good DCT is fun, a good manual is more fun :)

User avatar

BR2+  10y ago

Alot of people, Faster shifts=Faster times. It just all depends.

User avatar

lafars  10y ago

@BR2

Who leaves an auto in auto when you have the option of changing gears yourself? (semi-automatic)

Sounds pretty stupid and non-engaging

User avatar

BR2+  10y ago

Automatics do let you concentrate more on the road, Driving may have been the wrong word, But with an auto you dont have to worry about what gear your in, Or the upcoming gear, Or what gear you shouldnt be in, You can keep both hands on the wheel, Less leg movement, And your eyes focused on said objects, ie the track, Or everyday driving, Same with your ears,

It certainly take away involvement to a T, Or I in this case, And henceforth for me its unlikely to be considered a Drivers Car, Certainly thats not the end all to be all though, But with maximum concentration, Comes with maximum results, ie Time's.

And yeah, Its a shame about the TPOP, Its making cars better, But at the same time ruining them, And companys are losing there heritage, Look at Bmw and MB, TPOP is like a double ended sword.

User avatar

Flabernat  10y ago

I'm always surprised when people say "Auto lets you concentrate more on driving"(or something like that)... Manually shifting gears in your car to make it move isn't driving?
I have nothing against Autos in mostcars. But performance versions of sports cars shouldn't have autos, and the one's that are auto-only is an oxymoron. The whole reason you buy a performance car is because of the satisfaction of driving, and a manual provides that extra involvement you just can't get with anything else....

BR2+ I think you nailed it when you said it's all about TPOP "The Pressure Of Performance" Soo true...
