I believe the Ford Explorer SUV 4.0L V6 uses the essex 60 degree V engine? has anyone ever fitted it into the Sierra car as I believe you can increase the power output with these engines manufactured in later years. If anyone has any infor on the 4.0L possibilities let me know on my email servosystemsltd@outlook.com. It would make an interesting car if cosworth 500 power was possible at a lower price. May the Ford blesser smile on my out loud thinking for me as I see a potential XR4i for sale. Amen

Quickest time, awesome.

User avatar

BumRush  15y ago

Its always the quickest time, never the average. if theres proof, we will add it, if not stfu lol

User avatar

Yaspaa  15y ago

Thanks for the change Georg but none of the sources I gave says 8.4, 0-60 is 7.7-7.8 but the car does 65 in second so 0-62 shouldn't be too much slower. The other test in my magazine said 22.0 to 160kph, this one says 22.9. Do you always go with the quickest or an average?

User avatar

Georg  15y ago

your own source claims 8.4s 0-100km/h and why should we change 0-160km/h to a worse result?

The car does 65mph in second with 60 coming up in 7.8, the 0-62 needs to be changed. Quarter at 15.9 and 0-100 at 22.9

The car I'm driving now is the first time I haven't had a Ford, it's a Mazda3 2.0 sport with 0-62 in 9.0 secs. In no way shape or form is this Mazda anywhere near as quick as my XR4i was, that car had punch and Autocar tested one doing 7.7 to 60 and I've seen plenty of 0-62 times at 8.2.

User avatar

Yaspaa  15y ago

Dude it doesn't take 1.3 seconds to get 2mph. The 4i did 65 in secong gear, I've owned every 80's ford there was. I do get your point however.

User avatar

BumRush  15y ago

Couple things Homie. 1, 0-100kmh isnt 0-60mph, its 0-62mph, i know its not that different, but its 2mph different. 2, Mods change the stuff. 3, if you cant provide info on you 0-whatevr times, dont bother, because your just claiming them, need proof homie.

User avatar

Yaspaa  15y ago

Where the hell do you get your info from, nowhere does it say 9.0 to 60 for this car.;

User avatar

Yaspaa  15y ago

You've changed the country as well, the xr4i had 150bhp in England, in Germany it had the 2.8 capri engine with different fuel injection giving it 160 bhp, stop changing my stuff.

User avatar

Yaspaa  15y ago

Who's changed the 0-60, it's miles out, and the torque is wrong, wrong, wrong. I've got 30 years worth of magazines and brochures with dozens of tests, your info is shit.

Torque is 170 lb/ft not NM.

You should have tried with the magic word:"CORRECT!!"
