I think 0-60mph 5.7s is the real performance, the 0-100kph 7.2s is given by Hyundai official which is a reference figure.

What about the Evo FQ cars. 2.0L turbo with 405bhp.

About the "top power figure for a 2 liter turbo" i think its a Subaru.
2006 there was a Subaru Impreza WRX STi SPEC-C RA-R with 320ps(315HP/235kW)/6400rpm and (432Nm)/4400rpm) and yep it was a 2L Engine.

Motor Trend rated the Genesis Coupe 2.0T R-Spec the worse of the group ( V6 Mustang, VW GTI, MX-5, FR-S, BRZ). It's pretty quick but not much fun to drive, the 6MT sucks, turbo lag, steering sucks, etc.

Actually I think Mitsubishi has the top power figure for a 2 liter turbo. The Lancer EVO X has 291 bhp. However as stated before, HP/liter isn't important except for marketing (or race sanction rules).

I wonder is it possible to put this engine into Veloster (however different layout suggests the opposite). If Hyundai will manage to do this they can make a good claim in the performance hatches market.

As far as I remember, VW also have something similar to 270 hp in Golf and Scirocco R (and Audi S3). BMW have their new direct injection 2.0T with 250hp in new 328 and Z4 (and 5-series also, I suppose).

The hp figure, however, is rather insignificant when compared to more important factors like efficiency and relieability.

But horsepower sell. And Hyundai know that :D

The people who actually buy this car probably won't own it for much longer than 5 year warranty period. And the engine probably won't need a major repairs during that time.

My sixth sense tells me that the best 2.0T in market probably is BMWs.

Anythinig less than 13 seconds is good.

6 seconds shoud be the maximum time to reach 100km/h

7.2 s 0-100km seems too slow for its power/weight
