I really wonder why those are so heavy, very nice looking but imagine the performance at sub 1500kg!

I think we must to as FastestLaps users get some laptimes :) to know this car potential. But as far as we know this car is imo more than very good.
-The NOISE - beautiful V8 roar, not many NEW cars can match it, those turbo charged small blocks arent that good, its propably top10 of the best sounding cars
-It feel very uniqe
-Its like new proper build Aston MArtin
-Its fun to drive
-It have good torqe and power
-The price is very optimistic for what You get And so on
Its hard to find a V8 RWD with so much of character, looks, sound, and performance Ok we have
-Ason MArtins - but they are technicly old
-C63 Amg - but its heavy, not as well balanced, uglier, older
-Mustang GT500 - not bad, but not as refined suspension and interior

I just quote myself and lol how fast those cars are changes lately.
A year ago it was imo the top of the mountain of V8 sport oriented cars.
Now after not so much time we got:
-Challenger Hellcat with 707hp
-Mercedes AMG GT
-New Mustangs on the line: 350, 500.

Its really crazy how fast it has changed in my feel from being totaly new and fresh to be little outdated. This is brand new car. But it shows how much competition we have lately and its very good fot the industry beceause companies must be in constat move, give us new things, and make their product better.

I guess now AMG GT is the shit in this category, who knows for how long?

@Phav

It could be, I dunno, I think both coupe and drop top look as good as each other, But its just missing "Something" but i cant put my finger on it.

@Sax

Wow, Definetly the rare breed

Well, i think X6 looks really fantastic too lol

User avatar

saxy  10y ago

I never liked the look of this car. It looks like a squished BMW x6

User avatar

phavyarden  10y ago

I don't why, but in this case, i think the convertible looks a little bit better.

Maybe this is what you ment BR2 :)
Now that's on my top 5 Rank

User avatar

BR2+  10y ago

This is such a delicious car, But I dunno where to rank it in my book, I think the concept look better, and more complete, but it's missing something I dunno what

Jag had E-Type 2 seater roadster in the past and XJ220 which was "P1 of 90's"
Also they worked on Jaguar C-X75 which was a LF/P1/918 competirot and that was big thing.

User avatar

BR2+  10y ago

Jags used to be more of real gentlemens car rather then the shouty performance cars, I think the XJ is the only Jag today that really represents them, it's almost off putting to me because I highly favor heritage and sticking to there roots, they've made performance cars but it's a bit different today

User avatar

Flabernat  10y ago

Yeah Shaggy I agree. RWD and manual would be a great setup for this Jag!
BR2+... What don't ya like?

User avatar

BR2+  10y ago

I'm actually not sure I like the direction Jaguar is going, Doesn't seem Jaguar today

User avatar

Shaggy  10y ago

@Flabernat: I think they should offer a manual transmission and keep it rear wheel drive.

User avatar

Flabernat  10y ago

I think a manual will really make this thing a hoot to drive, just imagine that glorious V8 on a perfect down-shift :)
AWD makes sense to me, because where I live you need something capable of driving in snow, so I get why car companies offer it.

User avatar

BR2+  10y ago

To be honest, I dont think those 2 things fit this car, Specially being the type and company it is. But i think they should have made a completely new car to go with Awd and a Manual, Id love to see Jaguar enter the WRC with a brand new Awd car.

User avatar

Flabernat  10y ago

Good news! It looks like this sexy thing is getting a manual!... and AWD

Everybody knows Jag, I think if there aim was at the younger audience, They wouldnt have priced it like this, Most cant afford one unill they get there pension...

But it depends on which age gap they intend to aim at, 50? 40? 30? 20?...Who knows.

User avatar

G  10y ago

@BR2+ The whole point of cars like the F-Type is to attract younger customers and enhance Jaguar's image.

User avatar

Shaggy  10y ago

This has as much horsepower as an XJ220.

User avatar

BR2+  10y ago

Tis n awesome car i agree, But given Jags customers, Or most, Are of the "Older" generation, I dont see them wanting such a "Wild" car, But times are changing so it could be void.

User avatar

V8Supercar1  10y ago

@BR2+

So many people say those things about Jaguar. But I just dont see it. When I think of Jaguar, two cars come to mind. The Jaguar XJ220 which is a former worlds fastest production car. And the Jaguar XK8 cars. This Jaguar F Type R is awesome, especially for a 100k car.

User avatar

BR2+  10y ago

Not really a treat, But no complaints on how it did.

Although, This car baffles me a bit, Its a Jag, Known for its luxury and extremely comfortable ride, And good engines, So why would you want this with a loud arse shouty exhaust and for it too be a total nutter? Just kinda weird for me, Thas almost like having a Rolls Royce be as fast as a 996 911 Turbo......Wait, They already have that-_-

Ps: The newest Jaguar is available with a Manual!!!(Albeit not really sure why.....
