They are idiotic. For confused people with no taste. SUVs are waste of fuel anyway. Why not just buy a wagon/estate car. Same versatility (minus the high roof maybe) but better efficiency.

some SUV drivers also claim that it is easier to enter/exit the car and it provides a better overview when they sit higher, but then they could also buy a minivan. So obviously it is simply about status thinking. Hope this trend will stop at some point, but at the moment it seems to get worse and worse...

Most peeps are little more than baa lambs. Being surrounded by SUV's in car parks makes reversing a pain in the arse coz of no visibility. Like you said, a wagon/estate car makes far more sense.

I'd like to argue. Massachusetts and Rhode Island potholes are so big you need the suspension lift, plus the rugged stuff. Plus, our winters are so bad, we need the 4wd. I'm just hoping someone makes an electric or hydrogen fuel cell car that works well in the cold. On top of this, I like to go off-roading into nature and flim bears, lynx, moose, and fishers. The only wagon you could do that in is a Subaru Outback.

However, the only logical reason to buy a coupe SUV is to look like a douchebag. It looks like you can afford the bad fuel economy, but you don't want the utility, you just want to look rich and have a big car.
