Curious theory. But I would more suppose G-Wagens are so popular, because our richy dudes always try to show off, and this brutal Benz is an excellent item for such aims. They feel like they are kings driving those things, and 'higher' than everyone another...

Ps my Ukrainian grandfather was a T-34 tank driver during WW2 defeating Berlin in 1945. He told me the biggest problem with this machine was the unbearable heat inside the cabin going beyond 45 degrees C.

If he was alive today I would get him a G class for sure . He loved cars and spent most of his free time inside his garage working around his Lada. RIP granddad !

To explain why these type of vehicles are so popular within the Russian speaking population, it's quiet simple - a genetically defined Nostalgia for tanks. What do you do if you can't legally drive a tank on the streets ? You buy a G class !

Please, correct the data: the curb weight of 2550 kg is for the G63 AMG, this one can't weigh the same; the source I presented claims it is 8322 lbs, which way more believable; It is AWD. :)

@ Super8: You added the G63 AMG 6X6?!, This thing is so cool, I love military grade vehicles. This has got to be the most awesome SUT ever built 5,610 LBS is really not that heavy for what this is, a Chevrolet Suburban weighs 6,000 LBS. This is one of those things that is so crazy that it works, this truck rocks!! >8D

Holy imps, this vehicle has everything... It's damn so fast for such masses, fast at any area, what an engine! AMG V8, what a sound, what feelings! This can be used everywhere. It even looks exciting! And the main - this is the real OFF-ROAD vehicle... unbelievable result...

Would be even more impressively insane, if this was based on G 65! >8]

This crazy truck will be produced soon. It's ridiculous to think a 6 wheel Mercedes truck that can run around 130 mph. I wonder how fast this car on tracks both on asphalt and off road.
