This is my favorite Mercedes Benz Sedan, the S65 AMG is physics defyingly fast, as well as simply magnificent. Without the limiter, this car will do 201 MPH, I love this land yacht! The price in the U.S.: $221,000.

Not a big surprise. As, I am sure, you know, the overall trend, followed by all manufacturers, is to go for small displacement turbo engines.
That's why Lamborghini Aventador is so cool - not only it has a V12, it is also a atmospheric V12 and with all the latest technology - such as direct injection.

Bad news! Mercedes will discontinue the production of the 5.5 l V12 engine found in the 600 models. The 6 l V12 AMG will follow it soon. Mercedes also say that the new S-class won't have V12 engine. Looks like 2012 is the end of Mercedes V12 engines.

@fasteslaps we slowly should claim what car weight people should add in the data sheet...
My quote would be US curbe weight... car with fuel drive ready without driver...
Not that silly EU weight including 75kg driver/luggage or the old weight used in the EU without fuel/driver..

Please change the mass to 2200 kg, because the 2275 kg data includes a 68 kg driver and 7 kg luggage. Thanks!

This is the facelifted S 65 AMG. The engine is a slightly stronger, now produces 630 PS between 4600 and 5300 rpm. The torque remains 1000 Nm, now produced between 2000 and 4000 rpm according to AMG (2300-4300 rpm according to Mercedes).
