Active yaw control can shift power between the individual wheels. Not much use if you are just driving around town but fantastic if your in rain/ice/dirt or driving crazy.

It's an electronic diff, used in Mitsus only.

Active Yaw Control, just do a quick google search. Too tired to give a complete answer.

Guys stop arguing about weight.
All kerb weight depends on which trin you got. Anything with AYC was heavier than models without it.

I owned 2000 typeV manual, the lightest of the lot.

With the best shifting, stock, I pushed out 0-100kmh (or ~62.5mph) in 5.8sec.

It waa a weapon, but a wallet breaker to maintain. That was, until some fool hit my car and totalled it!!!

Well, I screwed up a bit above. The Galant didnt come before the lancer.. it came before the lancer evolution and if I am not mistaken it was the first Mitsu rally car with AWD.

I always wanted to get ahold of a JDM Galant VR4 and put the guts into a USDM Galant so I could register it in the U.S.

Not quite.

It was the Galant VR-4 that was rocking rally races with the 4G63 before the Lancer was even designed.

Mitsubishi designed the Lancer in order to have a smaller rally car. Once the Galant was retired from rally racing it allowed them to fit them with V6 engines since the rules of rally didnt apply anymore.

If you read the reviews the V6 fitted into the last generation Galant VR4 produced more torque and virtually none of the turbo lag found on the evo.. but the car had all the same tricks as the slightly smaller evo.

I think thats the other way round Monkey.

Yeah, the evos big brother.

V6 Twin Turbo with AWD and all the same tricks as the evo. Active yaw control, active differentals, ect..

Too bad only the early verson of the Galant VR4 was brought to the U.S. The later (much more powerful) versions stayed overseas.

Evolutions Big Brother?

Can anyone find the performance specs for this one?

This was a pretty hot car when it came out, like the evolutions big brother. There was also a wagon version but I cant find the specs in km/h
