GTO MR competition

This car made the 300ZX feel slow all around I'm acceleration, had both. The Nissan was better built but not as fast in a straight line, and around a track it wouldn't stand a chance. I had a 96 GTO MR and a 92 300ZX TT 2 seat slicktop.
I can't tell you lap times but I can tell you stock strip times:
1996 Mitsubishi GTO MR: 13.14@168.49kph, regularly 13.2-13.4@165.8-168.49kph
1992 Nissan 300ZX TT - 13.83@167.13kph, regularly 13.8-14.0@166-167.13koh
Aa you can see it's quite a difference. Had to let the Mitsi go but still have the Z. Scares my wife less and drives nicer in traffic, and it's still fast enough to ditch most anything. I do miss the warp speed feeling of the GTO MR, that I can't lie about. Looking for a 99 GTO MR at the moment.

After 10 months I turn 18 and I have chosen this as my first car, with a little bit of tuning I hope I can be faster than plenty of BMW M's and AMG's out there :)

These were so cool back in the day. Lots of neat little tricks like the front and rear active aero and exhaust note adjustments for a very reasonable price.
You can get a U.S spec VR4 for really cheap these days because they cost so much to maintain. The AWD system and all the little gizmos cost a fortune to keep working properly.

I believe the japanese manufacturers had a gentlemen's agreement during the 90s limiting their cars output to 280...no horsepower wars like how it was raging in the US. luckily that ended in the 2000s

First gen had 300 hp, around 3700-3800 lbs.
This car actually had 320 hp. Don't know why they list 280(japanese law?)
