If your driving, the entertainment system 9Except Radio and CD Player) is useless, but overall its not, its a great option to have, it may add a bit of weight, but not enuff to effect the car in anyway, depending on the type and how heavy the equipment is.

But again, The mosler CAN be made to WHAT YOU want it to be, its not so much a performance car as it is a Customizable handbag.

Theres a guy who i always see when i go to the track days at the end of the month, ill see if i can find out more about his options since he owns a street version.

And i agree, this MT900S Photon looks better then ANY Ferrari ever made, with a FEW being able to look as good, but theres ALMOST NO car i would take over a DBS or a AM310 Vaquish, those 2 cars are pretty much unbeatable in the looks department.

I think if Mosler gave a car to Top Gear, or set some kind record, they would get there name out there more, and have better sales and productivity.

Well, maybe the SatNav is a quite useful option or paint options, but about the entertainment equipment - inet and phone access or the DVD player - in Mosler? Mosler itself is an entertainment. All that whims are absolutely unfitting in such kind of car. Only add the weight.

"... and the Mosler name isnt exactly well known like Aston Martin or Ferrari."

And that's a shame. I'd prefer to own a Mosler over a new Ferrari or Aston.

All that stuff make no sense in such a car as Mosler, especially electronic

Why doesnt it? If there meant for the street, why shouldnt they have everyday stuff? again, its what YOU make of the car, you can have it for the track, or the street, or a full blown race car.

Last time i checked, the Non Photon was £132,450(Excluding extras), and considering what it can do, its worth every penny.

And im pretty sure Mosler has a good relationship with GM, but as far as straight line speed, and track times are concerned, a Corvette simply cannot match it, but that doesnt mean its worse.

Unfortunetly, the cars dont sell too good, they dont really have any well known recorde(I think) and there pretty extreme to boot, and the Mosler name isnt exactly well known like Aston Martin or Ferrari.

"with all the features, you can Opt for a more street friendly interior with Full alcantara leather, or swede, of your coice of color and style, satalite navigation, dvd player,....

All that stuff make no sense in such a car as Mosler, especially electronic.

I'm actually curious how did GM managed to borrow their LS7 to Mosler. And now Moslers are kicking Z06's ass all the way!

@Viking

I have, i hevent been in the newer LS7 2010+ model ones though, i only got a short drive in one at Silverstone a few years ago, i didnt have a problem with comfort, the seats were snug, and plenty of leg room, the guy, Eric Rossen, even had a heated steering wheel, a little narrow, but nothing i could complain about. there was no problem with everyday usability, none at all i could see, getting in and out were fine.

the newer ones though i dunno.

@DirtDick

These cars "Can" be made to order, you can choose the Photon version, track model with only the essentials, or the Road Model, S, with all the features, you can Opt for a more street friendly interior with Full alcantara leather, or swede, of your coice of color and style, satalite navigation, dvd player, internet acces, phone, even the steering wheel type when you put your order in(Optional Momo) And Rims and tyres and spoilers, This car can be built to customer specifications, theyll put pretty much anything in it you want, or get one specificially ready to buy with options.

Most are taken to the track, but can be specifically built for the road, the cars purpose is for the driver to have fun and get fast on the track, but ONLY if YOU want it that way, again, built to your needs, and what you want.

I see a few of these at the few track sessions i got to every month.

@Dirtdickler I don't really know. I have followed the cars of Warren Mosler ever since the days of the Consulier GTP, but I have never driven one. I do know that they are very track oriented, and very light for their size. So despite some attempts at comfort, they probably are less comfortable than Corvettes. Hard to beat on a track though. Has anyone on this site actually driven, or been a passenger in one?

Is this parts bin pile something that can be driven around day to day in comfort or is it basically a one trick pony / single purpose #'s car?

I dont think anyone who sits in this car would call "Any" part of it boring and plain But As ive said in my previous post, you "Dont" have to opt for the stripped interior pictured, your welcome to :Build" your own with the given materials to make it look better, Leather dvd, sat nav etc, Moslers are customizable at the request.

And i dunno bout that crash part, I know Mosler states that the car is very safe even in a crash as as stated in there website, and i know the US has quite a handfull of rules in making there cars eligable for the streets with all there safety regulations and what not...unlike here where u can drive a cardboardbox and call it street legal...

Your so picky-_-

I wouldnt say I'm picky, I'd just expect a better interior for $400k. It doesnt need a bunch of luxury stuff.. just a better design. Looks so boring and plain.

I wonder how these pass U.S safety standards? Maybe they dont have to meet them because of the limited production. Hard to make a car this light while meeting crash standards.

These Moslers are very impressive street legal track cars. I have all the Car and Driver issues with Lightning Lap tests. I think that the VIR track tests really show a car's ultimate capabilities, and the Moslers really shine on the track. Pricey, but worth it if one is wealthy enough and with a burning desire for such performance.

@Monkey

price is due to the limited production and it being such a small company. .

Exactly, Back in 2005, there were more produced, and there price tag was much lower, but know, with there company being small and as limited production, there has been a price hike.

But, The interior comes in different trims,(Your so picky-_-) This one is the Essentials, you can Opt for a more street friendly interior with Full alcantara leather of your coice of color, satalite navigation, dvd player, even the steering wheel type when you put your order in(Optional Momo) And Rims and tyres and spoilers, This car can be built to customer specifications, But THIS is the Photon Version, which is slightly stripped Version of the MT900S, It is a Track car, and alll those optional extras add the weight, so..

Seems sort of pricey for what you are getting. Very cheap looking interior and the engine/trans are relatively inexpensive for a car of this caliber.

You'd think at that price you would get a bit nicer interior. I suppose the price is due to the limited production and it being such a small company.

Back In 2005 the MT900S with 435Bhp was $165,415Usd, In a straight it was As Fast/Faster then todays ZO6. That Photon Version was $210,650, And putting down acceleration Numbers as fast as an Enzo, These New Ones are a Bit more expensive, The MT900 GTR was $215,780Usd Cre, THIS 2012 MT900S Photon Version is Rarer, And Costs $394,200.

If people are wonder about the Lap, It was down to a Weird Track and Tyre setup, On this version, Mosler chose to use 315Rear tyres, and a Smaller track compared to the Lightning Lap test with the MT900S that ran the 2:45.90 at VIR,(Wider track and 345Rear Tyres) And it also had some tranny issues making it go 7mph SLower thru Its Run, As to why? I Dunno dont have the issue on hand at the moment.

But i wouldnt have a Problem buying one at all.

User avatar

monkeypop  13y ago

Whats the price tag on these?

With such a simple interior and relatively inexpensive engine/trans I wouldnt imagine these would have a very high price
