My Grandmother has the 4 cylinder version of this car, in bright red, so not a granny car. My cousin has a silver one with a V6 and a factory spoiler, she loves it, she says it's fast.

I drove one of these a few years back and was pretty stunned at how quick they are. Virtually no torque steer which was a major problem with previous generations.

As fast as a Cobalt SS.. no. But still a very quick granny car. Problem is that the majority of these have the god awful CVT tranny.

I find it hard to imagine that this car can do 1/4 mile in 14 seconds. The European VW CC with 296 bhp, lighting fast 6 speed DUAL CLUTCH transmission, launch control, and AWD is listed at 14.0 1/4 mile. This rather primitive Altima has almost none of those technologies to help its 1/4 mile time.

The 2010 3.5SR with TCS and VDC should set some interesting lap times, probably better than the Cobalt SS.

Look at the lap times on the Acura TL Type S and then look at the potential this has with the Z motor easily tuned for 300hp and the weight. The wheel wells will also take 255/40/18s. All it needs is a new grill and a GT spoiler to look right. I bet this would be faster than the Z set up the same.
