Those Ram Air engines were brutal, the most powerful Pontiac engines of their time.

An offer you can't refuse. Ram Air II is the best Pontiac engine before Ram Air IV and Ram Air V introduced

Super 8……you are definitely right…..the Ram Air III was a “puppy dog” to the RAII….
I did own Ram Air III in a ‘69 Judge and a ‘70 T/A…both 4-spds. However, both of these cars were owned after a 71 455HO T/A…..for a street car, the HO was brutal and does all its work in the lower RPMs……acceleration reminded me (although no first hand experience) like a jet fighter catapulted of the front of an aircraft carrier….
I would have loved to own a RAII Firebird. I understand that they were just plain nasty….
