Was not DP Motors a tuner? Or did they stand to Porsche like Ruf?

Another version of the 962...

There's a few 962s on the road - I have magazine articles on several (not modified like Dauer or the Schuppan CR). The purest, even purer than this DP Motorsport 962 above, is Schuppan's 962R (aka 962LM) - essentially unmodified from the late-build carbon chassis race car. In 1991 a red one, UK-registered H726 LDP, was out and about around High Wycombe.

wow this is street legal its probably the closest street car you'll get to a sports proto type race car that would compete at 24hr lemans.

I personally wouldnt bet against the GT-One, then again, i couldnt give a shite. but thats just me lol

Yes, the GT1 was amazingly fast, but that's not the question to answer, mr. turbo says, why cars of this level, as it would be a r15 for the streets, don't manufactured, you told us that the reason is simple beacuse they made about 150 of these one's, but Toyota created a small number of GT1's and anyway had a street version. But i would say that Porsche, Aston Martin, Peugeot, etc, don't manufactured this cars because in this critical times don't need create cars that not make enough resources.

can´t you read punk?
I claimed the actual Porsche GT1 race car beat the GT1 and CLK GTR in the real world during the real 1998 24h at LeMans race...
The gt1 was never real tested and so the true perfromance is unknown..
it was a replay to phavyarden comment that Mercedes and Toyota build a street version of their LeMans racers... and Porsche did the same... not from the 962 but from the GT1

Your not honestly suggesting that the Porsche GT1 Road Car or CLK GTR Road Car can Beat the GT-One Road Card are you? if so thats laughable LOL

User avatar

Georg  16y ago

@phavyarden Porsche built the GT1 for the street... the car that fighted against the CLK GTR and Toyota GT1 on the race track. The Porsche GT1 beated both the Toyota GT1 and Mercedes CLK GTR in the 1998 24h of LeMans

0-100kmh, 3.4s

Yes, but Toyota Built a GT One for the streets anyways, and Mercedes did the same with the CLK GTR

User avatar

Georg  16y ago

the reason why they made so many is simple to the fact that Porsche had build a huge number of 956 and 962 race cars... if I am not wrong north of 150units... that a impressive number for a LMP1 class race car..
All R8, R10 R15, Bentley Speed8, Peugeot 908 V12 HDi, Toyota GT1, Mazda 787 together don´t even come close to that number..

User avatar

phavyarden  16y ago

I would love to see a Bentley Speed 8 or a Peugeot 908 V12 HDi Road Car for the streets, that would be sick !

User avatar

phavyarden  16y ago

Imagine an Audi R10 LM for the streets, but the r10 is no that beatiful as this one

User avatar

Mr.Turbo  16y ago

why dont they manufacture just like those cars these days ?
