I'm honestly wondering why people don't see the Mk5 as a "real" Supra when the old one has only been genuinely impressive with huge tunes that wouldn't last very long without maintenance.

Supra competition

I have AMS magazine with 330 PS Supra's test and it is much slower than Car and Driver test from USA.
In USA, it gets to 60 in 4.6s, which could be 4.8- 5.0s to 100km'h. And 1/4 mile in 13.1 at 109mph. Very impressive.
In german test. it is 60kg heavier, needs 5.9s to get to 100km'h and from 100-200km/h is slower than 286PS M3 E36 3.0

I think we should merge the German spec (this page) and UK spec pages in one, or, in other words, delete the UK spec page.
Then we would have RZ supra ala Japanese with 280 hp gentleman's agreement trim, and the Euro/US supra with 320 hp (330 metric hp).
Whatever small differences there are between German, UK and US specs, we should be better of ignoring.

maybe there was an acident in the factory, and some of small japanese people got traped somehow in some of those supras... and nobody didnt noticed they are in those cars, so they sold cars with them

Yeah but a full tank on these things is like 80 kilos, you don't need that much to drive, you might as well add the driver because the car won't drive itself.

No is was a UK spec tested, but why is their such a variance in the different weights. They did remember to get out of the car when it was being weighed didn't they? lol. Lightness was supposed to be a priority with this car which was why they only had a single exhaust. Are the 3000 gt and 300zx figures correct?, the 3000 gt had 4 wheel steering and 4WD it should be much heavier

so to end that confusing ..
The Supra was more heavy and the weight by auto motor und sport is correct... most likely Evo simple posted manufactor claimed numbers..
Motortrend 3505lbs = 1590kg
C&D 3480lbs = 1579kg
Road&Track 3550lbs = 1610kg
(claimed)
ams 3615lbs = 1640kg
(auto motor und sport)
Road&Track 3700lbs = 1678kg (tested)
sportauto 3758lbs = 1705kg

Yaspaa that are real tested numbers not manufactor weight claims...
Evo cars once weight a TVR Cerbera 4.5l lightweight which is claimed by 1100kg and they weight it without any extras at nearly 1290kg...
The Supra (6 speed manual) was weight and tested in >1993< by auto motor und sport at 1640kg,
Yaspaa 15y ago
The american one is quicker too.
http://www.supercars.net/cars/1816.html
wiki has max weight at 1550
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Supra
These have 0-62 at 5.3 ( prob auto)

Somethings wrong here, it has to get to 62 quicker than this, its lighter and more powerful than the 300 zx and 3000 gt yet gets a similar 0-62. I'm sure this car weighs 100kg less than this as well, it does in the UK.

just to think about.. a Porsche Carrera GT is faster in Hockenheim as the DTM race cars of the 1990-1991 during qualification laps... and the DTM drove on slicks the Carrra GT on normal road tires (no S tires!)
that is evolution..look at F1..with all the regulation setback to slow the cars down the F1 gets faster and faster every year.

what the hell!! 1:24 on hockenheim?? man I guess they really don't know how to drive supra. lol...
