I mean no disrespect to anyone, however:
Unfortunately it has become my conviction that the supra fanboi haters are becoming as bad as the supra fanbois. These people hate the absurd and childish supra fans so much that their hatred is extending to the car, and frankly, the car does not dererve the hate (just as much as it did not deserve the overhype). Let's look at it this way: It's a luxury grand tourer that was very powerful for the time but was more on the heavy side. The biggest flaw I see is people comparing it to the R34 GTR, NSX and RX7. Of course the skyline blew it out of the water, because they are from different eras. The Supra was introduced while the R32 was in production. Nissan had 2 generations to perfect the skyline. The NSX and FD are purpose built lightweight sportscars so it'd be a shame if they didn't demolish the supra on track. The Supra's real competitors are the Nissan 300ZX, Mitsubishi 3000gt, Ferrari 456 (to some degree), and Aston martin Virage.

UK specifications 1993 Toyota Supra Top Speed calculations!

Factors

322hp minus 13% transmission losses= 280.14hp
Height= 50.2"
Width= 71.3"
Frontal area 86%= 21.376 sq ft converted
Co efficiency of drag= 0.31
Weight= 4000lbs

Aerodynamics and downforce (assumed) and rolling frictional forces automatically calculated by sofware~ no input.

Results~

150MPH= 177hp
160MPH= 211hp
170MPH= 250hp
177MPH= 280hp

*hp rounded up.

So 177MPH theoretically calculated and possible. Not bad for 1993 that's phenomemonal!

0-100 in 11.1 seconds isn't bad at all. E36 BMW M3's Evolution or not were over 1 second shy.

This car could keep up with a Ferrari 348. Not too bad honestly.

In the UK these were the lightest and most powerful of the japanese Ferraris. 0-60 on the manual was 4.9, the auto 5.1.
