...Why put a 12 cylinder in a suv?.

User avatar

Why not put a 12 cylinder engine in an SUV?

User avatar

Why would you even want a V12 in an suv?

And a V12 in an American car would be somewhat.....Non American..

Whats next a V6 in a Viper? A 3 Cylinder in a Mustang?.....

How come there is no other midsize nonluxury SUV with a 12-cylinder engine? In America we never have them. America should've made some V-12 performance SUVs, like the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT12, the Chevy TrailBlazer SS12, and the Ford Sport Trac SVT12 Adrenaline. :(

@ audi r8: With that torque, definitely gas (petrol), the torque would be much higher with a diesel engine.

I never heard of a Touareg with a W12, I like it! :D

500 units of the W12 Sport Edition were built.

Too bad the top speed is limited @ 250kph. Otherwise, it would go much faster

The VW group still uses the W12 in the Audi A8 W12, some Bentleys and possibly also by Spyker, in the Zagato?

Well, time has passed. It is about time to upgrade it .

@ anonyoums

not in 2005... there was nothing in the SUV world with the same power and performance...
a Porsche Cayenne Turbo was 3.4s slower to 125mph.
The most powerfull Q7 and X5 of that time were 100hp shy to the Touareg power...
The 2008 Jeep SRT8 with same 6.0l displacment V8 has slightly less power and is only marginal quicker thanks to it´s 700lbs lower weight.

Like the Porsche Cayenne Turbo. But it looks better than its stablemates - Porsche cayenne and Audi Q7.

You would get the same performance out of a V8 with a big time fuel saving.

Diesel engine or Petrol ??

Being a W12, u would expect more power and performance wouldn't you ? Given the price.
