Not everything is about speed.
The OG M2 has better steering, better suspension, better cornering, better damping, better sound, better interior, and feels more raw. They didn't put as much sound deadening in the car so you can hear everything, the Engine and DCT are mapped so that every drive feels like a special occasion.
And of course the M2 looks much better, with it's wide arches.
I owned a tuned M140i running 455bhp/634nm, and in a straight line it murders most M cars. But my standard OG M2 destroys it on a twisty B road. No matter how much you spend on tuning and modifying an m lite, it will never be a real M car.

Sorry, can you clarify what do you call OG M2 and M2 Lite? I'm trying to get into M2 world but these acronyms are very confusing. Thanks

these acronyms are very confusing
I think "M2 Lite" could be M140i. "M Lite" is anything that contains "M" in model designation (not to be confused with mere "M Package" which is mostly cosmetic), but is not a true M-Car (M2, M3, M4, M5, X5M, X4M etc).

I guess as a "tier list" this might help
M Sports Package: Offered on base model BMW's where different wheels are added, different "M" Steering wheel, M badging and other M components but are not "M cars"
M Performance Cars: These are almost like "half" M cars, they typically have better performance than the base model cars, but aren't as fast as the full M car. (M140i, M240i, M340i, M440i, M550i, etc.
