actually it's a win win between the two cars, the merc has the torque and displacement advantage and it's much more of a drag racer, even a base model sls amg (not even black series) does the quartermile in 11.1 sec, the 599 gtb only does 11.2

SLS is from 2010, 599 as tested from 2006.
From 2009 all 599 featured HGTE package improving lap time by 0.7%, so to the level of the SLS one year before this was even presented.
The 2010 599 GTO is another 2% faster.
