Ford is American, there for its American simple as that, and any car with semi slicks are terrible in the wet.

The RS is german not american. Strip an RS of its bulk and put it on road legal slicks and it would muller the R26.R
The R26.R is useless in the wet!

Bruntingthorpe is a power circuit and the Megane still wins. It may be 70 BHP down but its a whopping 237 Kg lighter! Plus those Toyo tyres are track biased. Im not surprised the Megane beat the Focus on the track. However its not so good in the wet, look at that Wet Handling time on the Autocar circuit.
Mr Drazen, how can you say the Focus handles badly on track? Its Bruntingthorpe Time beats the 400 BHP RWD Vauxhall VXR8 and its Autocar time beats the Audi RS4 with 414 BHP. Hardly the stuff of a poor handling car. look folks, its simple really. Ford set out to build a superb ROAD car, the best FWD ever. Renault set out to build the best FWD TRACK car. Each has it's place. Personally I would love them both in my dream garage!

i agree that the R26R is prolly better on the shorter tracks, but what about the power orientaded tracks? and an extra 70bhp vs semi-slick r compound tyres? not too sure. maybe the Renault has more power than entitled?

Admittedly, the RS does look good but Ford seems to think that throwing power into a car is the answer. The french used their heads and merely did weight reduction and kept the Brembo's, racing suspension (which is in the production vehicles too). The RS handles as bad as any american car on the track. All power, no handling! I'd rather have a car that handles well. - Renault Sport Owner
