I have to eliterate my comment from months ago, about weight not effecting top speed, normally it would effect the top, but putting a certain amount of weight on a car would, like for instance if the Zonda was 30,000Kg heavier...it wouldn't reach it..but of course no car would have that, my point is a bit moot, but realistically, it weight would at some point given enuff.

And even how quickly it gets there may not be totally right, weight as a whole maybe, but with the advances in tech, Power To Weight Ratio isn't the same, no matter how you look at it, Corvettes, 911s, GT-Rs, they have changed that big time.

Question is, will PTWR ever be obsolete regardless how much or less Weight/Power? I think it will someday.

@ Z: Power to weight ratio has absolutely nothing to do with top speed, except how quickly it gets there.

@Z: Not to offend, but your reasoning is a bit simplicistic... You don't consider some basic factors determining top speed: gear ratio and drag coefficient.
You can have 1.000 hp, but it doesn't mean your car will break 400 km/h, because it can have a short final ratio, or an high drag coefficient. Power/weight ratio can be indicative about acceleration, but it doesn't say nothing about top speed.

@Z
Dude, V-max depends mostly on maximum power, aerodynymics and gearing. It have not much to do with the power/weight ratio.

LaFerrari's max speed can't be 350! It must be around 400 kph because LaFerrari has better power to weight ratio than Veyron and McLaren F1. And I believe that the max speed of the F version of Huayra will be also 400 kph.

Zonda would still be my choice...

@Z
Huayra has a topspeed of ca. 370 kph, LaFerrari around 350 kph.

No Suprise Here.

Same price, same power to weight ratio but veyron is much faster than Zonda. I believe that Huayra F and LaFerrari will have 400 kph max speed.
