What he said below. I would take a Gallardo over the 430 anyday. It all comes down to personal preferance.

...Couple things.
First off.
1: Wtf cares what Salomandrin thinks, Its YOUR choice not his.
2: We all no there are people out there that think this way.
3: Again choosing which car you like better over laptimes is absolutely retarded, Even if your day is filled with nothing but being on a track.
4: Chose the car YOU like, Not because of laptimes
% Also i think choosing a car soley on performance is crazy, Id glady take a n STI over a 4C, Or a 370Z Nismo over a Phantom, But to each there own.

The same guy that tested both the lambo and viper went on track day with the car he had the best result in.

Why would i choose the car that i do the least performance on unless i already made up my mind on the car that i want regardless on how i perform on them.
tharne 9y ago
Well i am not the only one that things that way. Salomodrin thinks the same way. If his 675l does really good on track he keeps the car.....

well tharne, neither car is much faster than the other, and lets not be kidding anyone... you're not going to get one of these cars and then do lap times on them daily. NOR does doing the faster time on the track guarantee you having a greater time on the track. any cheap track car can mince both of these cars. If lap times were SO important, we'd all be driving radicals.

...How does a lptime even matter? How does a laptime help you to chose which car you want to own?
All it proves is which car is faster round a track, And that speed only matters to you, If thats the case there are much faster cars at a lower price available both new and used. A Laptime should be the LEAST of ones worry's when choosing a car they like.
I picked the 430 because it looks better, Its interior is better and more comfy, Sounds better, Slightly more raw then the Gallardo, Rwd, And ive always thought Ferrari Manuals are better then Lambos, And if i have the option to get a manual in a Ferrari ill be damned if i get the paddles, The 430 is a good deal bit more expensive both in base Msrp and fully loaded, But i think it has more to offer, And its my choice. Laptimes, ZERO relevance in my choice, Zero.

How does laptime not matter? If you like both of these cars and you can only keep one.... If in the f430 i do much better time than the Gallardo you better believe that will be "a" factor for picking one. I don't mean it will be 'the' factor but it will help to choose one.

You can't compare the superlegerra to the regular f430 though can you? Wouldn't it be compared to the scuderia?

The 2008 Gallardo SL is clearly faster than the F430.

saxy, but if laptimes are great, it may be worth robbing the bank and getting the one with better laptimes :)
Gallardo has 2 more cylinders and probably is a bit faster in straight line, but like I said, it seems a bit mundane, compared to a Ferrari. You just don't see many Ferraris, not as many as Lambos.

Isn't lateral acceleration/grip better for determining which car handles better on paper? Too many variables for track times. Driver, weather, straight line performance. Skid pad is the best imo
