Dodge Viper SRT-10 ACR vs Chevrolet Corvette ZR1

The viper has always been my favorite car, while the corvette has always been my brother's favorite car. that's why I love seeing comparisons between the two of them regardless of the generation :P

@M3hunter: the '13 zr1 as you can see here is still beaten by the 2010 acr (nordschleife times were done by the '12/'13 zr1 vs. '10 acr both factory times, also laguna seca time for acr was stated it could be improved) having said that the zr1 still beats just about every other car out there (barring the acr,918,laferrari,and,p1 of course) so it's no suprise that the base srt viper lost, it's not that the srt viper is slow, it's just the zr1 is incredibly fast.

The '13 Viper and '10 ACR are different cars, if your about the performance. Viper GTS is a more "domestic" one than a mad ACR version, which is mostly oriented on the track. And I hope there will be a new ACR. About the tires - I'm not a prof. but I guess SRT shall make a deal with Pirelli, or whatever..

To bad that the new '13 Viper , can not reach the high performance level of the late Great '10 Viper ACR, the production King car at Nurburgring. Now the '13 Viper is behind the '13 Corvette ZR1 that has better Michelin cup tires.

They are comparing it to the old 2009 ZR1.

It would be a much closer race against the 2013 ZR1 has PTM and Cup tires!

I believe new SRT Viper GTS will beat ZR1 and GTR. Let see if they can prove it

I prefer Corvette and Viper than GTR. GTR is too easy to drive while ZR1 and ACR give a lot of andrenalin and danger fun than GTR

Hey VV Veyron, how do you figure the GTR smashes the Corvette? Search here for "GTR vs Corvette" and you'll see that out of 19 tracks the Vette was faster on 14 of them. What info are you using to support your assertion?

Does anyone notice it seems you can't go on any reasonably popular thread on this site without the freaking GTR being mentioned at least once!

After 100mph the Z06 will eat the GTR alive.

The old GTR took 11.5 seconds longer than the z06 to hit 180. I cant imagine the new model improves on that much.

Actually, the mk2 GTR is pretty much dead even with a C6Z from a roll.

It really comes down to the driver due to the GT-R's very quick shifts.

The 2012 GT-R is not fast only to 60mph, it's actually maginally faster than a z06 in a straight line (even with a rolling start) up to 250kph, after that the z06 doesn't stand a chance due to its gearing. See 0:25 into this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfEAYnjRSUs
A ZR1 though is faster than the 2012 GT-R, but the difference isn't as big as you may think, here is a video were both cars start at 50kph in 2nd gear, see 6:45 into the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MT0_fd3H1Rc I think this race would have been extremely close with a standing start.
If the rumors are true and Nissan are making a 560 hp GT-R for next year, that would probably have straight line performance very similar to the ZR1.
I like both the GT-R and the Corvettes, they are all performance bargains, I just want the facts set straight.

Do you seriously think a GTR is faster than a ZR1? WTF is wrong with you? The GTR is ONLY fast to 60 mph. Dude the Z06 is faster than the GTR. A magazine company compared the Z06, GTR, and a GT500. Without a doubt the Z06 was the fastest car. It doesn't surprise that someone who is a Veyron fan to not know anything about cars. THAT is an overweight and overpriced POS. LOL
