I agree with Jeff B. The M3 was introduced in 2007. Far much older than the RS5 and the fact that the Audi is only faster by that little shows how far behind is Audi in their technology. But props to Audi.

Ah but fairly close in nearing perfect conditions which suit the BMW most. In the real world (times with damp, wet, ice, snow) where most of us do most of our driving, the RS5 will be MUCH faster. BMW still a great car though.

I'm still blown away that these cars are so close despite the 5 year difference in their release dates.

I still wish Audi would put its turbo V8 in the RS4/5.

You're proving my point, they are almost identical in size.
M3 Wheelbase 108.7 in
RS5 108.3 in
The RS5 is only heavier because it is AWD...

Jeff yes it is:
Length: M3 4615/RS5 4649 mm
Width: M3 1817/ RS5 1860 mm
Weight: M3 1655kg/ RS5 1725kg.

Hans
There will be no BMW M4, it'll be called the M3, I gaurantee it. Also, the RS5 is no bigger than the M3, they both have almost identical wheelbases.

Jeff Considering this RS5 isn't a competitor for M3... M4 will be. RS5 is a bigger and heavier car. But of course still beats M3.

@S
What game did you do that in?

@Jeff B

But still BMW M3 E92 production end this year.

Considering this is a 2012 car and the M3 was a 2007 car, it should be much faster, but it seems it isn't.

So, now RS5 is faster at every level than M3. not only on the track but also on the straight line.
