I wouldn't be so categorical but it does seem very optimistic.
With perfectly optimised final drive ratio (first gear topping oit at 100) and super soft slick tyres plus sticky tarmac plus perfect clutch drop... maybe it can do it. It has the power weight ratio to do it. On paper...

The true difference came from the downforce. Though F1 had a wind blower that glued it to the floor, the xj220 had 2 venturi tunnels which generated even higher downforce due to its enormous dimensions (5m x 2m). The arquitecture was based on a xjr10 chasis (1989 wsc title contender) and aerodynamics (more than 1200 kgf downforce at 300 km/h)

WOW ! it is Very Close.Even Though it has Less Top Speed.Mclaren is Still a Bit Faster Than Jag.
