SEXY METRICS GANG!

Z06, advertised@505hp, actual power measured@610hp (high-revving 7.0L n/a V8)
SLR, advertised@617hp, actual power measured@689hp (high-revving 5.4L s/c V8 with 0.9 bar/boost)

Both cars make more power than claimed, but the Z06 makes over 100 hp more than claimed versus the SLR at around 70 more than claimed. Not to mention there is AN 851-POUND GAP between these two beauties (in this simulation)!

BUT there is a catch... the Z06 does make almost 550 hp with factory cats and exactly 610 hp with a straight pipe exhaust system.

The two cars are even equal on the track, which is impressive considering the SLR's age and weight AND transmission! The SLR was far more track-ready than I originally thought.

Also, in my estimations, the Z06 is 1/10th of a second quicker to 300kph than the SLR ;-)

Z06 may be barely slower, but its "refinement" will never match that of the SLR. That's what matters. Compared to ANYTHING from Germany, the Corvette and Viper are kit cars. I hate to break this to you, but their crappy quality is why they're cheaper, and by the time both cars reach 30,000 miles, the clear significant winner will be the German car.

Forget about any AMG, a 2003-04 911 GT2 from the 996 era (and even then, the 996's logic Vettequivalent is the C5) is going to stump the C6 Z06 in MOST drag races. It's not all about sheer power, but how the power is refined.

Cars made with a main focus on dragstrips or race tracks without any luxurious materials added to it are BASICALLY kit cars. That's why you see people swapping LS-series small-block engines, almost never AMG engines.

Its actually $381,000 cheaper!!, but yes i agree it should say that, but i think the reason it says that is because of its 0-186mph time, which is a 10s difference.

It should say barely faster, and i feel great owning a Z06 that is $300,000 cheaper than the 722 and just as fast.
