I like the Honda S2000 CR a lot, and it definitely handles very well. The big course at Willow Springs is a momentum track and a car with excellent handling can make up for its moderate horsepower and get a quick lap time. The Honda S2000 shows this by beating the much more powerful Mustang. Virginia International Raceway is a different story, it requires hard acceleration and also very hard braking, in addition to excellent handling. The Mustang has more power and better brakes, end of story.

Rather impressive lap time for the Honda to beat the much more powerful Mustang. I have tried out two different late model S2000s (one with CR mods aka type S), and they really do handle very well. Great shifter on the S2000, definately the best I have used. Willow Springs big course is probably a momentum track, one that can reward cars that maintain speed through the corners and thus have enough exit speed to match or beat cars with better excelleration.

I had 2 S2K’s an AP1 and a CR. You really have to learn to drive it in high rpms. I’ve beaten cars with much more HP. You have to keep that car above 6k. I enjoyed the AP1 more because if the 9k redline. A little more torque was not was not worth the lower the loss of rpms.
