Should a lap time be officially recorded and published, by all means post it up. But it seems to me that this isn't an official lap time, but more of a rumoured/ speculated lap time.

It makes an unfair comparison against cars which have posted actual lap times.

Can I ask that this lap time be deleted, or at least a marker put on it somehow? Purely because it's currently a speculated lap time and not actually a recorded, officially published lap time.

If it is however an authentic lap time, could someone please provide a more credible source than the current "Autobild Sportscars 09/2013" as the current source only states that "it is said to have achieved this lap time".

Too much speculation in that for my liking.

@FastestLaps
His full source is "AutoBild sportscars September 2013 (09/2013)".

@ FastestLaps: Oh, now I get it, full reference including date! (facepalm) sorry. :S

In AutoBild sportscars September 2013 they mentioned a 8:30 for the Nordschleife but they did not test it, it is just a claim (by Skoda).

Quote: "Ab November gibt es auch einen Laptimer. Auf der Nordschleife soll er nach einer flott gefahrenen Runde 8:30 Minuten angezeigt haben."

Translation: As of November a laptimer will be available. On the Nordschleife, it is said to have displayed a time of 8:30 after a fast driven lap. (Thereabouts)

My point is that every laptime in this database should have valid reference.

What reference means is described in "definitions" section of "Site rules" page.

When some person 10 years from now wants to know where this laptime came from, he would only see "AutoBild Sportscars" but not the issue date or number. Which is bad.

@ FastetLaps: I'm almost ashamed to ask, but what is your point? :S

Yes, but you still don't get my point :D

@ FastestLaps: DeDe is usually right about performance figures and lap times.

I also 100% trust him. It's just that full reference (including issue date/number) is better for future reference.

I'll trust DeDe on this one and say it's correct.

DeDe, thanks a lot for the laptime.

I added "AutoBild Sportscars" as organisation/afiliation. And also as reference.

Reference can not be left blank. Before community laptime moderation, I used to immediately delete such laptimes without any consideration.

Ideally, reference should be something like "AutoBild Sportscars 08/2013", or "EVO issue 667" or "Top Gear Series 10 Episode 7". Not just the name of the organization but also issue or episode number.
