Behind the concept of every hypercar, different engineer ideas are incorporated. Compete head to head on different tracks would allows relative strengths and weaknesses of the different innovation concepts and performances to be assessed.
On this matter, Porsche is very fair. 918 lap times can be found on almost all tracks and Porsche will provide cars any time.

Pretty quick time.

@jackson: yes the driver is extremely important on the nordschleife and ferrari did not have one specifically trained for that track, although arguably has the fastest gt-series pilot in the world these days (gianmaria bruni).

However, it looks like desimone grasped one or two tricks about nordschleife more than when he did 6.58 with 599xx. an year ago he allegedly was lapping the circuit at 6.35 pace with pzero corsas on a laferrari apparently modified to fxx-k specifications. thus, i would not bet against a well-below 7 minutes hotlap on a stock laferrari...

in any case, i hope ferrari will keep up with his deeds and never advertise any such performance.

On a small tight go-kart courses modified 1gen miatas are demolishing everything. Hypercars are for proper tracks

Not any car is good in any conditions. As you mentioned before, tight, slow tracks are not the circuits to show off for the fans, but 918 has advantages there. LaFerrari is brilliant on tracks, e.g. Monza/257, Spa/235, Hockenheim/223,...
Nordschleife could be a tie, if Porsche wouldn't have Marc Lieb.

fiorano is not a good track for exploting the potential of laferrari, because it is simply too slow of a track. in such tracks 2wd cars are at huge competitive disadvantage compared with 4wd cars. on a kart track, laferrari would not be any faster than a subaru impreza. they should be really fit with trofeos and still would be unfair.
laferrari should be driven in f1-class tracks or even nordschleife.

@jackson: what do you mean with "high speed tracks"? there are just less than an handful tracks with average speeds in excess of 160kph (for cars like 918) which are used back to back for magazine's testing.
do you think those are "high speed tracks"? maybe it is that 95% of the tracks used that are absolutely unrealistic for 350kph, 1000hp cars.
how much research and development has been put in such cars for speeds less than 150kph?
the fact is that these cars are being tested at speeds they have not been designed for. like testing them on gravel or off road courses...

... and definitely with F1 qualifying tires, that's the point, LaFerrari needs tons of grip for the hugh RWD power, works only on high speed tracks.

The car is amazing, with Trofeo R is easily the fastet of the thre kings!!!

Even if everything can be true, there is much room for speculation.
How fast LaFerrari will be on Nordschleife?
How fast LaFerrari will be on Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca?
I guess LaFerrari will be fastest on Spa, Autodromo Nazionale Monza, ...
I guess LaFerrari will lose Nordschleife, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

That lap time is official, driven by Jethro Bovingdon during the same comparsion session between P1 and 918. Only Porsche fanboys claim the otherwise and moan all day. LaFerrari is confirmed by many journos, reviews and comparsion tests as the best, most capable, exhilarating and most intoxicating driver's car from the trio, here's clear proof that it's fastest even on track, as on the road, other times will follow this year, thanks to Paul Bailey and esp. Powerslide Lover, which plans to return to Spa and Nordschleife during summer, same goes for Paul's Holy Trinity battle on Silverstone. Recently, even on wet Spa, LaFerrari was faster than 918, only traffic and worned tires spoiled the relevant time value of both cars. Only layman and car ignoramus would doubt the domination of LaFerrari on the track and on the road.

The 1:12.10 are rumours rather than official facts. As long as Ferrari refuses to compete head to head, there are no facts at all.

Why caĺl others names? One track wih one test per car per track is not decisive enough to figure out which of the 3 is the fastest or slowest.

LaFerrari is fastest car on Anglesey Coastal, which is the only track where the complete trio set their times. You idiot...
