Continental GT V8 competition

I don't understand the sense of this car at all. Having smaller engine this car still weights as a small camper. So what is advantage of buying V8 between W12? I can find here only one advantage - V8 looks a bit better. So this car would buy only people, who haven't enough money to buy W12.
It would be great to throw off the weight below 2 tons, using aluminum and carbon fiber. Then it would become more expensive, but maybe 500 PS V8 wouldn't be faster than the W12 in a drag race, but it would surely be faster on the corners, and then it would be logically to buy less weight V8 than W12.

Hey Guys, I've driven this at Millbrook proving ground in November! The car is way lighter then the W12. Doesn't have the same feel as the W12. If you had a blind on you'd think you're driving a V8 Audi!

@Jeff B
The datasheet requires the year of introduction NOT the model year. This model year bullsh#t is just marketing. If you can buy a car in 2012 the car is a 2012 car not a 2013 one.

@bnonymous: its has nothing to do with that engine.
"unique arrangement of its cylinder banks in a W configuration. Two VR8 blocks, each with a fifteen degree bank angle, are joined in the crankcase
to form one engine. Both eight cylinders are set at an angle of ninety degrees to each other and are aspirated by a total of four exhaust gas turbochargers. Other than that: Different bore and stroke, different compression ratio.

Looks like it has half a Veyron engine.
Half the cylinders, half the power, roughly half the torque, half the displacement and half the turbos.
