GM's goal is to compete directly with the 328i, C300, and 2.0t A4 with this combo. Good luck GM, you're going to need it.
It looks like it's bound to be fun either way with a 6 speed manual, 270hp, and a weight under 3400lbs (according to GM). Also, the 2.0 ecotec already has a pretty good aftermarket and people have made serious power on the stock turbo.
