In fact there are two of these pages regarding the same car, but I cared to comment on this one because it has the lap times, and I asked the admin/mod to please transfer more data to this one.

The Cadillac CTS Vsport is a baby CTS-V, as it uses a V6 and not a V8. This car was the one that led Audi, Jaguar, and Mercedes to switch from V8s to V6s in their performance midsize sports sedans (only BMW wasn't affected). The Cadillac XTS Vsport also uses the same engine, but the family sedan is a little bit slower to avoid fighting (or overlapping) with the sports sedan.

The CTS Vsport is to the CTS-V, as The Simpsons is to Family Guy. Most of the fun factor is lost, the subtleness kicks in regarding both the exterior design and the noise, and the overall performance is much tamer and less offensive to the average treehugger.

..I knew that MF was German! There are quite a few Cadillacs here, CTS/BLS/ Older ones, Mustangs not as much, but theres a SURPRISING amount of GT500s here, there imported pretty heavily here on special order for about 60k. But I have been seeing more Camaros here lately, usually in silver or black.

Mental, are you British? Because I'm pretty sure there aren't so many Cadillacs or Mustangs in the UK.

LOL, I don't live in Mozambique... neither in Germany... BR2 got it right. And over here American premium brands are extremely unpopular. There are almost no Cadillacs (except the Escalade, which by some reason is ordered quite often), no Linclons, no Buicks, no GMCs etc.. thankfully... American Fords and Chevys are also not frequent sights. You have much more chances to spot a 911 Turbo or Jag XKR than a Cadillac CTS.

HOWEVER, I have to say Mustangs and Camaros are surprisingly popular here. In fact, I see one of them every second day. Most of them are V6 though, but since people don't distinguish, the effect is equal. Nevertheless, two weeks ago I've spotted a Hemi Orange Chally SRT8.. gorgeous car... Haha, and an interesting investigation: most of muscle car owners are considered to be dandies and richi boys, most of them buy these Camaros and Mustangs as status symbols.

Yeah and BTW, I've got no horrible taste in cars... If Cadillac makes awkward and boxy cars, that's not my problem...

I think it looks pretty good, but the front angle as shown is the best angle, But I do kinda agree on the rest, The cars wheelbase needs to be at least 8 inches longer while the overall car 4 inches shorter, 4 inch lower roof line, half inch lower ride height, 2inch bigger rims, would look MUCH better and better proportioned.

Looks great otherwise, Its always the little things-_-

It sounds rather good too, even for a 6 Cylinder, But im not sure about a V6 to be honest.. and the name, VSport is stupid, should have called it C-Sport or S-SPort, V-Sport is just confusing with the upcoming V Model..

And I 'Think" Mental is from the Ukraine, not Germany...

mental is german and a cadi, mustang, camaro is as rare as a ferrari, if not scarer due to that most of these are not available there.

i like the front of the cts, but the overall proportions are ugly imo.

i dont like when cars are so lean and long. it just looks long-drawn-out. same as the new a8.

i like the older gen more

This car is already added:
https://fastestlaps.com/models/cadillac-cts-v-sport

That page lacks the data though, so the first one can be deleted.

To update some performance data:
Top speed - 277 kph;
0-60 mph - 4.4 sec;
0-100 mph - 10.5 sec;
http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2014-cadillac-cts-vsport-twin-turbo-v-6-test-review

1/4-mile - 12.8 @ 11.9 mph (MT test).

Those numbers were predictable. But the braking distance... Schocking! How the hell can a 1800 kg saloon stop quicker the

Corvette Stingray, where all the suspension elements are taken from??? That's a supercar league... I think 60k price is acceptable for its abilities. The CTS-V would definitely be even more sport oriented, so I'm even afraid... With the turbocharged LT1 and all those electronics, that saloon would be threatening for the Shelby GT500... WTF???

But whatever how technically advanced the new CTS is. I absolutely don't like the CTS design with these optics...

the interior is OK though, but not better than those Germans have. And that's the case I would prefer the Jaguar XFR over this CTS.

BTW, two days ago I spotted the CTS the first time! LOL. And seeing it alive only confirmed how unattractive it is, IMO.

Yeah the rear-end is pretty mild, especially compared to the big bold front.
I never really liked solid black leather interiors though. That's what really sticks out to me about the E-Class, I love the two-tone leather, wood and aluminum accents. It's very rich and classy looking.

User avatar

BR2+  11y ago

The E class has a very nice interior, Love the Center console, But id still have to give the overall to the CTS. Although I have to say, I don't really care for the rear of the car, front is awesome, and overall is good, just certain things.

I don't have a problem with Bmw interiors, or Audis, but IMO there far behind MB and Caddy interiors in looks. the I8 has a great Interior and the RS models do, but Audi interiors only come in black or gray, which I don't really care for. But then again so doesn't everyone else...But MB and Caddy look much better.

And that braking performance is insane for a Saloon car like this, Better stopping distance then a 997 GT3/M6/Veyron/R8/M3/Panamera GTS, Thas crazy. But still, that price tag...

User avatar

@ Hamcee
I agree. Mercedes do a wonderful job building beautiful interiors. Caddy's are close, but not quite yet the best. But CTS is very light(for it's class), and from the looks of it will be the fastest as well.

@BR2+
Yeah that 98ft 60-0mph impressed me most... Can't wait to see the the CTS-V will be like 0_0

User avatar

Hamcee  11y ago

bmw never has been the top dog in terms of interior.
in fact it has always been a flaw and not on par with mercedes and audi.

the cts has a great interior, certainly better than a bmw, but i would give the edge still to the e-class

but well, its probably subjective.
the price went up pretty much, but you cant blame them.

PRICE AS TESTED $71,090

User avatar

BR2+  11y ago

Wow, that is impressive, 98Ft from 60-0? That's absurd, that's GT3 level... And a Figure 8 damn near as fast as an M5 Competition and E63 S.

Although one major problem I have with this car, or more like 2, is 1:, the price, Its 60k! Thas crazy, the last CTS-V was 64k does that mean the New V will...ACTUALLY..be around the same price as its German rivals?...I hope not..

2: Weight, whatever happened to Caddy saying this new Frame will make the car like 3400lbs?

But disregarding all that, its a damned good looking car, and an Incredible Interior even better then the top dog Bmw(Who would guess?) And the Top performance Saloon Mercedes, all for "Roughly" half the price.

Cadillac has certainly improved, One of the Top most improved Comapnys ever in todays world. Wonderfull job, but still a bit douced by the price.

@ Flabernat: Impressive performance for 6 cylinder engine in a big sedan.

This thing is impressive. Yet again, we have another lesson in the importance of lightweight!
