I owned a 1990 Talon TSI, great fun until the turbo died. It squirted forward nicely when the turbo finally spooled, otherwise not so much. Handling was the biggest disappointment. Also parts literally fell off the steering wheel on the bumpy road, lol.
The MR2-S that followed ran rings around it on anything with curves. AWD notwithstanding.
Good car, yes. Dream car? Not for me.
