I can say with absolute certainty that the G37 goes faster than 155 mph. No aftermarket or performance parts installed, 100% factory stock. On Interstate HWY 10 between Phoenix and Tuscan; got up to 158 mph and would have gone faster if not for a strong gust of wind that got under the car. Never in my life had I experienced my vehicle lifting up and shifting an entire lane. Which for those of you who know that part of the 10, know that its only a two lane highway. I was lucky to have been in the "right lane" at that moment in time otherwise I would Not be here today.

158 mph, that’s way beyond the speed limit and that means one thing, you should be sleeping inside a cell with an inmate that hasn’t touched another person for years.

If you could only post a video, that would be awesome.

Take care ✌🏻

Sorry to come off as a bootlicker, but FL only publishes legal figures. For liability reasons.

LOL you think the speedometer is your actual speed?

I have suspicion that for legal reasons all speedos are calibrated slightly wrong, with bias to show more speed than actual.

For older cars you can swing this in either direction by changing to different wheel size (which is not recommended of course).

For even older cars I believe there may even be calibration methods to adjust the speedo itself, within some reasonable range.

Speedo calibration is tricky subject due to potential legal issues with both the speed limits and meddling with mileage.

For sure there is always calibrated to give a more generous speed, because the other way around could get them in trouble. And yes, over and under inflated tires could make a huge difference. I recall a video of the 812 going down the back straight of the Ring, and the speedo and actual speed were off by some 15kph.

This car doesn\'t weight 3760lbs, it weighs right around 3620lbs which is lighter than the coupe version.

And it has 328hp and 269ft-lb Torque.

Road & Track recorded:
